Why was Colonel Billy Mitchell court-martialed and thrown out of the US Army?
Mitchell was a prophet, and a prophet is without honor in his own time. It is only when subsequent events fulfill the prophecies that the average person can tell who was a prophet and who was just crazy. Mitchell was certain that in the next war strategic aerial bombing would play a large, if not decisive role. Of course, he was correct. The powers that be then made amends, to the extent that their pride and "the good of the service" would allow, by naming the B-25 medium bomber the "Mitchell". But at the time, the brass, being the brass, were old, stuffy, stodgy, set in their ways, and conservative in their beliefs. And what they believed was that the airplane was a noisy novelty, mostly useless except for aerial scouting. Mitchell, being sure of what he understood of the future of air power, and believing the safety of the nation was at stake, and that the US military desperately needed an appreciation of air power, wouldn't shut up about it, even when warned several times that he was making a nuisance of himself. And its the nail that sticks out that gets hammered.

What questions are asked in a Microsoft interview?
Questions asked will be about your ability to do the job you are applying for, your qualifications for the position and your experience.
Other will be more of a personal nature to try to ascertain the type of person you are.
Below are a few examples.
1. what would you (or your last employer) say are your strengths? weaknesses? 2. how do you deal with conflict within the workplace? give examples of how you have handled conflict in the past 3. how would past co workers describe you 4. what can you offer to this position 5. why do you want us to hire you 6. where do you see yourself in five years 7. are you planning on furthering you education 8. why are you looking to leave your current position 9. outside of work, what are your interests 10. why should I hire you
There are many possible questions that can be asked at a job interview. Lots of employers like to ask "Why do you want to work for this company?"
The best thing to do is to do a little research on the company beforehand so you have some knowledge about your possible employer, and so you can find out what you respect about them or what interests you. Another question frequently asked is "Why do you think you'd be a good candidate to fill this position?" So it's also helpful to know what skills you need for the position you are applying for, and which of those skills you have that you can apply while your on the job. Employers also like to find out what your good qualities and traits are. Try to mention things that will benefit you at a work place, such as being able to work with people, being able to communicate well, and having good customer service skills (if you are applying for a job that requires this). Not only do employers like to know your good traits, but they also like to know your weaknesses. If they ask you this, you definitely do not want to say that you don't have any. We all know that everyone has weaknesses, and being able to recognize what they are and admit that you have them is what employers like to see, because only then can you change them. Answers for this questions will of course vary from person to person, but just be honest when answering, and also mention ways which you are trying to strengthen your areas of weakness. And more then anything, just be yourself!
Can you join the army if you have a high school equivalency diploma?
Yes.
However, it's not easy. While you can enlist into any branch of the US armed forces without having a high school diploma, you must have a GED. In addition, you should be aware that only a small percentage of overall enlistees will be allowed entry in the military with only a GED each year.
The Air Force allows less than one percent of annual enlistments to be recruits without a high school diploma. The Marines have the next highest standards. No more than five percent of Marine recruits can be GED-holders. The Army allows no more than ten percent each year, and the Navy limits GED enlistments to no more than five to ten percent each year.
There are always many, many more GED-holders who want to enlist than there are available slots, so -- even to be considered -- a GED holder must score much higher on the ASVAB, than a high school diploma recruit.
However, if a recruit has 15 or more college credits, he/she is in the exact same enlistment category as a high school diploma holder.
