You can get out of it up until the time you raise your hand and are sworn in. After that, you cannot get out of it unless they want to let you out.

No - no branch of the military ever has. The "stress cards" are an urban legend, with no truth behind it. See the Snopes article in related links for a more explanatory article on the matter.

Where is the navy boot camp in Michigan?
There isn't one in Michigan. Recruit Training Command is located in Great Lakes, Illinois.
What base has the hardest boot camp?
THE MARINE CORPS IS THE TOUGHEST BOOT CAMP OUT THERE AND ONLY THE TOUGHEST SURVIVE. THERE IS NO IF ANDS OR BUTS.
Responses to this will vary depending on the service. Typically and traditionally, Paris Island, South Carolina for the USMC is considered one of the toughest.
I will say, the Marines are very tough, but the Army is right up there with it, and the Air Force, is becoming way more like the Army and the Marines in that their PT is just as challenging, they learn the EXACT same stuff the others do, tactics, rifle usage, etc. The same amount of stress is put on them, and they carry the same attitudes that you Mighty Marines do. Marines probably have the toughest boot camp with the Army right there with it, followed by the Air Force.
How do you get out of the army before boot camp?
Tell your recruiter you want out. Regardless of what he's said, even if you've signed the Oath of Enlistment, if you're in the Dep, you can get out. If he won't listen to you, go past him and up the chain of command. Trust me, pull the strings and they cant touch you.
It depends entirely on what level you are referring. there is a chain of command from the President of the US to the lowest soldier, each has a role to play. Below is a glimpse into the COC (Chain of Command):
Is naval academy easier than marine corps boot camp?
Basic training (boot camp) is required the summer before you begin at the Naval Academy. If you are thinking of the harshness of it all, the Marine Corps boot camp will be as it is concentrated into 3 months, however, the Naval Academy will stretch it out over 4 years. Due to the nature of the two it is not a fair comparison to think of them in the same context as their missions are different.
How long do you have to go to boot camp if you want to go into the Army?
Boot Camp for Army is 10 Weeks
1st week is reception, where you will get issued any items that you will need, and get all medical completed
9 weeks is the actual training
Can you become a lance corporal right out of boot camp?
It may sound strange, but getting to E-3 is tougher than getting O-1 by going to ROTC and getting commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. Why go through the hell of Lancing out of boot, when one could instead go for a commissioned straight out of university. No OCS, just ROTC and commission.
What are some nice things to write in a letter to your boyfriend who is at basic training?
Whatever you feel like writing. If you're sending a postcard, where the writing is openly visible, you would want to use discretion in what you wrote on it. Or, if you wanted him to suffer it out a little bit, you could do like what someone did to me and write something like, "Well, I was very surprised to hear that your Drill Sergeant is gay and that he wears a navel ring..." on a postcard. Although he probably wouldn't be too happy with you for that.
What is the duration of basic training in army?
Army's basic training lasts 9.5 weeks, not counting processing. Some MOS's allow you to go through OSUT (one-unit-station-training) OSUT is basically where you combine basic, and your mos school (AIT), into one, condensed, time. Infantry, for example, is now 13 weeks, you spend all 13 weeks at the same spot, being taught by the same guys.
What is the navy boot camp like?
It is 8-9 weeks of learning how to do things exactly as you are told. You will learn to pay attention to detail.
Essentially, it is not very hard. If you are in any kind of shape, the physical aspect is easy. Even if you are only in mediocre shape, you can get through the physical part. Know how to swim (only the absolute basics of swimming and floating are required. Believe me, I can BARELY swim and I passed on the first attempt).
Here are some quick points:
1. Learn how to shut the hell up and listen.
2. Do everything exactly as you are TOLD to do it, don't overthink things.
3. You will be given a study book. Study it.
4. Try to be able to do your end requirements for the physical test before you leave for basic. Good rule of thumb for males is the run in under 12 minutes, at least 60 pushups and 60 situps, females about 13-14 minutes and 40 pushups and 60 situps. Just a good rule of thumb before you go. It helps.
5. You don't have to know how to swim, (they will help you), but be able to.
6. You will get up at 6AM every morning and go to bed at 10PM.
7. You will eat 3 meals a day.
8. Your division will get inspected constantly.
9. Take only the clothes on your back, wallet, and cell phone. The cell phone and your personal clothes will get mailed home after you get your 20 second phone call home to let whoever know you made it there. The wallet stays locked up in you locker.
10. DO NOT whine, complain, backtalk, or god forbid CRY when you are getting disciplined. It makes it get much worse.
11. You will get exercised to exhaustion regularly as punishment as a division, try not to get this as an individual for something stupid you have done.
12. You will learn firefighting, damage control, weapons (barley), line handling and marching.
13. You will get about 3-4 calls home when you are there. Bring a phone card, and you can buy phone cards when you are there as well.
Hope these help. The best thing I can tell you is never give up at anything. If you are being punished by exercise and can't move your body anymore, wiggle something but don't give up! You have 2 months to work as hard as you can and to do what you are told to do.
My personal experience with navy boot camp was that I thought it was pretty easy and somewhat boring at times. The worst part was being away from my wife for 2 months. Is bootcamp hard? Not really. Is it challenging? Oh yeah.
Is there a height restriction to be a marine recruit?
You can be no shorter than 58 inches and no taller than 80 inches to join the United States Marine Corps.
How far is dawsonville Georgia from fort benning?
that base is right inside Atlanta Gerogia. It is an open post.
How much does navy boot camp for kids cost?
You don't pay to go. Transportation (either bus fare or airfare) is provided at MEPS. Once there, you'll receive an advance from your first paycheck to allow you to get some necessary items (running shoes, neck wallet, watch, etc), as well as your first haircut (you pay for your haircuts). When I went through in 1998, it was $150 advance, and haircuts were $4 each week. Don't know what they cost now.
How many push ups do you have to do in boot camp?
More for some, fewer for others. Typically, recruits who draw the attention of the Drill Instructors spend enormous amounts of time pushing the training facility into the ground (doing push ups). Those who remain anonymous will average one to two hundred per day in twenty rep increments.
Can you take a inhaler during boot camp?
You can take it with you, but it will be confiscated before you leave the Welcome Center. You will not be permitted to use any medication that a service physician did not perscribe for you. If you are caught with something an outside physician perscribed, you could receive Article 15 or Court Marshall.
What happens if someone quits the air force after basic training?
You go to the stockade. It is called dereliction of duty, and is a Courts Marshall offense.
If you are talking trainee discharge, you go home in some form of disgrace, and you never serve your country. Ever.
Who has the hardest basic training in the military?
i think that the royal marines commandos have a reputation for being one of the toughest 32 week basic training course, but there are other American forces like the U.S navy seals who also have a very hard training course.
Navy SEALs hands down have the toughest training in the US and second toughest in the world, Spetznaz being first.
Can I switch to marines if I enlisted in the army but haven't left for boot camp yet?
You have that option to switch, however the US Army does not have to technically release you from your contract until you fail to ship for Basic Training (it is the same way for all other branches). Now as a US Army Recruiter you have to understand that when you enlisted in the Army you got to choose your specific MOS based on you ASAVB score, where in the Marines you will choose three career fields and which ever one opens first the Marine Corp will give you. People enlist into the Marine Corps for one of four reasons; 1. They like the uniform 2. They think they are hardcore 3. Family tradition 4. Following their friend's. You don't join the Marine Corps for job experience or college money, don't get me wrong they are a great branch of service but they are also the smallest branch. They are controlled by the Department of the Navy, the majority of their training is conducted at an Army installation, and if you are not located at Paris Island, Camp Lejeune or 29 Palms you most likely will be on a ship with the Navy. Think about it there is a reason why you choose the Army first.
