Yes, they do. It is their way of desensitizing you and you'll get used to it after a while. However, on ships you have privacy while showering.
Marine basic training requirements?
You should be able to run 5 miles in under 40 minutes in 90 degree weather with all ur battle gear on, able to do over 100 push ups in a row over 100 crunchs, and over 100 grass drills or hit-its, that's just boot camp, you should never give up, they will look for leadership and people that will push no matter the scenario. There is no true way to be prepared if you can do those things I named at the top you should be able to get passed the first week, though you will be doing everything with few hours of sleep every few days, and not much food or water, you have to be the best out of the best extreme marksmanship and ability to accuratily take down targets with in seconds of seeing them and working together and being brave is what gets you there. Into the Marines going over sea's, but there is so much more that needs to be done, give it a try it will straighten you out.
Can someone get married right after basic training?
During training and before graduation it would be difficult to impossible. I do not believe there is any military regulation preventing it though. The best course of action though is to wait until you reach your first duty station, unless that station is overseas. In that event, you should have a short leave time between graduation and the time you are required to report, use this time to get married. keep in mind that most of your paperwork is going to change after marriage: dependents, pay, insurance, power of attorney, etc. And, you as the service member must chase this all down.
Can an swede join the marines?
Yes, provided they meet certain criteria. When I enlisted, foreign nationals had to have established permanent residence in the United States, and have declared an intent to obtain US citizenship. It may or may not have changed since then.

How long is boot camp for the Army National Guard?
During the Viet War, a man had to either do 2 yrs in the US Army, or 6 yrs in the Guard or USAR (US Army Reserve). The USAR is new, compared to the Guard, the USAR was created in the early 20th century to provide a "pool" of administrative & support personnel for the Regular Army. Thus, nearly all of the USAR consists of support personnel and support units. Contrasted to the Guard's large amount of combat units (tanks, infantry, artillery). Sometime after 1975, the DA (Department of the Army) lengthened a serviceman's obligation from 6 to the current 8 years. This was largely due to the all volunteer army; no more draft; and a reduced military overall (de-activation of units-called retiring the colors).
How do you sign up for sea cadet boot camp?
US Naval Sea Cadets? UK Sea Cadets? Australian Sea Cadets? Depends on the nation, specify next time. But anyways, sign up with a unit, and then they will give you the papers to sign up for bootcamp. In theory, to lead the Marine trainees in his squad through training and to help guide them. In reality, it simplyfies the structure of punishment and discipline; when any individual within that squad bolos in some manner or another, it simplifies for the DI who to come down on.
Is there bullying in the military?
Perhaps, but few if any Drill Instructors are Sadists. Discipline remaina a key factor in the training of an army and it seperates them from being an armed mob. It must be instilled and maintained and the soft nature of Americans in the post Doctor Spock generations may require a tidbit of brutality to reverse.
For some strange reason the US Armed Forces manages to put together a winning team every time that political constraints are removed. The Armed Forces continues to be political tool. There are events in its history that can be called errors of judgement, accidents, and failures in the legal process, but on the individual level, bullying is forbidden.
What to bring for marines boot camp?
You bring yourself. What I mean is - they( the drill instructors) take everything you own and put it in a paper bag. You get the bag back after you graduate. When I went through they told us that you could bring items like shoes, toiletries, letter writing gear,so on and soforth but when we got there they took all that stuff up,made us put it in a paper bag and write our name ,ssn, platoon#,and address on it and put it in storage until we graduated. No matter what anyone has told you the Marine Corps will issue you what they want you to have.

Are you considered a veteran after finishing basic training ait?
According to the VA "veterans administration" you are not considered a veteran of the armed services until you have completed 180 days of active duty not including time in training such as basic training and ait. This would also preety much rule out all or atleast most people in the reserves and national guard. my two cents- It is ignorant to say that "This would also pretty much rule out all or at least most people in the reservist and national guard." Especially since the war is being fought mostly by reservist and guardsmen. Yeah right "One weekend a month".
It all depends about the teens ability and i myself can not tell you yes or no to this question i need to know why you want to send them to summer camp. I think you should judge you teens athletic ability and if it is not god then don't make the teen go.
What do you do in Marine Boot Camp?
The toughest of all the branches, but not like "Full Metal Jacket" tough.
It's tough and humid and hot, but then you'll be prepared to take on anything. Good luck, Semper Fi and God bless!!!
Where do you go to Marine boot camp? It was EXACTLY like "Full Metal Jacket" tough during my time (1981). The movie IMO was the closest thing you can get to without actually going through it. Movie was fully detailed ---down to the black toilet seats in the head. Just be prepared to endure the hardest thing you ever did in your life. Maybe you will come out of Marine boot camp "Full Metal tough".
It is the SINGLE toughest thing you will ever, possibly, accomplish in your life. "Full Metal Jacket" is a dead on balls accurate depiction (with one exception...those ropes the actors are climbing do NOT..repeat DO NOT have knots in them..lol). Spent a record 319 days aboard the Island, (93-94) ran on a broken left leg for 10 days of BWT. USMC Boot Camp is DEFINITELY hard core. It's ALL mental, though. The physical part will come with a lot of hard work and sweat. The mental part is what you gotta work through. You hafta WANT IT. Semper Fi!
After basic training (boot camp), you go to AIT (Advanced Individual Training), where you are shipped somewhere to go to school for your MOS (your job). You still live in barracks under the nose of drill seargeants, but is a lot more lax. You even get to go out on the base some weekends and do what you want. Then you are shipped to your unit (or you go home if you are Reserve).
Do you have to go to boot camp if you have been to ROTC?
NROTC does not require boot camp. You will take Naval Science courses during the school year and participate in one month of duty each summer. The first summer (third class cruise) is a month working with enlisted personnel on a ship. The second summer (second class cruise) is a week with each of the four major branches, Air, Surface, Submarines and USMC. The third summer (first class cruise) you serve as a junior officer on a ship.
Can you leave base after navy boot camp graduation?
You're usually granted a 24 hour liberty after your graduation ceremony and before you ship out. After that, you typically will receive a week or two of leave before your next assignment, which is typically your first A school for most. Of course it all depends on Navy scheduling and requirements, but once you're a bonafide sailor, you're just like any other working stiff in the Navy, albeit an unqualified one. You're subject to the liberty and leave regulations of any other sailor, and like anyone else, must request it and have it approved. Typically though they grant you time to go home and show yourself off to friends and family - good PR. I actually did a couple of weeks with my old Recruiter after Submarine School - many years ago.
Boot Camp is the common term applied to Military Basic Training. Each of the four services trains new recruits and indoctrinates them into the world of military service. This is done during basic training or boot camp.
Are you veteran if you were discharged from boot camp?
No - to qualify as a Veteran, you must have:
1. Completed a minimum of 180 days of active duty, or
2. Completed 90 days active duty with at least one day served in wartime, or
3. You served in wartime and were awarded a Purple Heart or service-connected disability, or died, regardless of whether you completed the minimum length of active duty service in the chart under.
The key element in all factors is that you have to have been on active duty, meaning you swore the oath, signed the contract, and reported for duty. If you never made it to Basic, it doesn't qualify for being a Veteran.
It would be different if you had served any time on active duty before reporting, and were injured or otherwise affected by health issues (service related only) requiring a discharge, since we're currently in a wartime status (since 1990) for Veteran qualification.
