Yes. If you have an empty PCI bus slot on the PC motherboard, you an install a PCI card which provides you 2 or 4 USB2.0 ports which are available at around $10. There are some combo cards which provide both USB and Firewire (1394 ports).

i recommend removable storage... on a flash drive/ portable flash drive.

Both of these devices offer advantages over the other, so the major consideration should always be the circumstances in which these devices would be used. For example, does the user need a ton of space to store all their programs, media, etc? If so, a SATA drive makes more sense, since 32GB of SSD space means that you'd only have your OS and a handful of programs and media files before you ran out of space.

However, what if the user didn't care so much about space, but instead wanted to reduce power consumption (i.e. improve the life of a laptop)? The SSD would offer up to a 30% increase in battery life for the laptop, which might far outweigh the limited amount of storage that would be available. Assuming cost is not a significant factor, a SSD also allows an operating system (such as Windows), to load up to 90% faster than using a SATA drive.

Ultimately, each type of drive should be considered a tool with a specialized purpose. You wouldn't use a hammer to remove a screw from a computer, nor would you use a screwdriver to drive a nail into a piece of wood. Choose SATA if you prefer capacity over performance, and choose SSD if you prefer performance over capacity (but only if capacity is not a factor).

Yes. Data DVDs can be copied directly as long as they are not copy-protected software. Video or audio DVDs will require transcoding. Make sure the flash drive has enough room to hold the contents of the disc.

As far as I know, they are compatable. My mother in law lives in Poland and my flash drive works in her computer, also I have had various USB devices in Thailand, Laos, Bali and they all seem to fit and function properly.

IEEE1394 or as Apple calls it, "Firewire" can carry more data. And superior to both of these is Thunderbolt also developed by Apple.

When you got your mp4, you should have received a plug with it as well. At the bottom of your mp4, there should be a slot. That slot is used to plug in the skinny thing on the cord you received with your mp4. At the other end of the cord, there should be something that looks like the thing that is on a usb drive. With the thing that looks like the end of a usb drive, plug that into your computer, where the usb drive thing you plug it into, and then use the skinny thing at the other end of the cord and plug that into the mp4. If your mp4 is flat at the moment, it will charge it up. Either way, you can add songs on your mp4 as well. Hope that helps! :)

There may be a physical switch on the drive that will switch the flash drive to read-only. The switch may be rather small.

The drive may also be formatted with NTFS. NTFS has file permissions that can sometimes restrict other users or computers from accessing the drive. Try backing up the files on the drive and formatting it with FAT.

I don't know what you mean by gradation, but if your pen drive was USB2, and you incorrectly disconnected it (withouth using the taskbar icon), you may have damaged it. Many of those damaged pen drives still works ok if they are connected with USB 1 interface. try disabling USB2 in your bios, start your operative system, and if still not detected your pen drive, try making OS detect new hardware or hardware changes (to crange usb2 drivers to usb1 drivers). This trick rescue many electrically broken pendrives.
