Verbs

Auxiliary verbs, also known as helping verbs, are used in conjunction with main verbs to express grammatical relationships. Examples include "be," "have," and "do." They can indicate tense, aspect, voice, or mood in a sentence.

"Is used" is a passive construction using the verb "is" as a helping verb, and "used" as the main verb. It indicates that the subject is the recipient of the action instead of the doer.

During is not any kind of verb. It is a preposition.

"Helped" is not a mental action verb. It is a past tense form of the verb "help," which indicates an action of assisting or aiding someone. Mental action verbs refer to actions related to thinking or perception, such as "think," "believe," or "remember."

Transitions used in a process paragraph typically involve chronological or sequential markers to show the order of steps or stages in the process. Words and phrases like "first," "next," "then," and "finally" are commonly used to guide the reader through the steps in a clear and logical manner. Additionally, transitional words such as "meanwhile," "in the meantime," and "simultaneously" can be used to show concurrent or simultaneous actions within the process.

Rather is an adverb and doesn't have any tenses. Only verbs have tenses.

"To" is not a linking verb. Linking verbs are verbs that connect the subject of a sentence to a complement such as an adjective or noun that describes or renames the subject. "In" is also not a linking verb, it is a preposition that shows a relationship between two things in a sentence.

In English, the verb often takes the auxiliary verb "do" before the subject to form a question. For example, "Do you like coffee?" is a question form compared to the statement "You like coffee." This is known as the auxiliary verb "do" in the present simple tense.

A "cog" is a toothed wheel, typically used to transfer movement and power between two rotating shafts. In a broader sense, it can refer to a component within a larger system that plays a crucial role in its functioning or operation.

In a sentence, the verb is the action word that expresses what the subject is doing or the state of being. The subject is the noun or pronoun that performs the action described by the verb. For example, in the sentence "She sings beautifully," "sings" is the verb, and "She" is the subject.

"Has finished" refers to a completed action in the past, while "has been finishing" typically implies an ongoing or continuous action that has recently been completed. "Has finished" suggests finality, while "has been finishing" suggests a process that has been happening over a period of time.

Using the present tense typically indicates that the action is currently happening or ongoing. It can also be used to express general truths or habitual actions. It creates a sense of immediacy and can make the writing feel more engaging for the reader.
