How many chin ups should an adult man be able to do?

I am 14 (5'5 140) and can do 25 consecutive chin ups i would say being able to do 10 is decent but then again when i got my bar i couldn't do 1 you can build up chin up ability very quickly.

I'm thirteen 5'7 140 and I can do fifty after one month of having my bar so it doesn't take long to get good!

When I was 16 I did 300 consecutive chin-ups. I thought I was the strongest kid around until my high school gym teacher forced me to them with proper forum. That is, 3 seconds up, chin 90 degree angle with the bar and pause for 1.5 seconds, 4 seconds on the way down, then when you get down you fully extend your arms then pause for 1.5 seconds. Then repeat this cycle. I went from doing 300 cheaters to doing approximately 10 real chin ups. So i could do 30 times less chin ups when using perfect forum.

Given that, I would estimate that if you can do 50 cheating chin-ups and if I threatened you and said do as many perfect forum chin ups as you can, I would have to do something drastic after about 5 because that's all you could do.

To answer the question: If you can do 10 perfect form chin ups you are part of an elite group it doesn't matter your age.

Im a freshman in high school i weigh 145 and im 5 foot 7 my max bench is 170 max squat 325 i play linbacker and running back and wondering if anyone could give some tips?

You should work on your bench press strength because 165 is a low max for how much you weigh. Ideally athletes can at least bench as much as their own body weight. Plus the upper body strength will help you block for the ballcarrier

Quick notation, for 5'9" and as a freshman, 209lbs is very high. I'd picture you as a defensive lineman rather than a Linebacker. Make sure you work on your speed, as a strong LB with quick feet can nearly ensure success.

im also 5'9" im squating 350 max dead liftin right around 270 benching 235 and running a 40 in 4.8 thanks

How many reps should you do when weight lifting?

This depends entirely on your own capabilities. A short answer is that you should complete as many as you can with perfect form. When you break form (either due to lifting to heavy of a weight, or doing more reps than necessary) stop working the muscle as effectively and you increase your risk of injury.

Is it bad to bench press every day?

if You use less than 60% of your 1 rep max it's ok, otherwise you should only every oyther day if you're going to be bench pressing in order to get stronger or bigger, then no, do not bench press every day. If you are a woman or a man who wants to lift like a woman or look like a woman, then feel free to. Bench press is a man's lift. A big lift. A growing lift. You should bench press once per week. maybe twice. but go for big weight each time. Bench press is not cardio. So stay away from 60% max crap and stay strong.

What is the best workout to gain muscle mass?

The best way to gain muscle mass & size is to train heavy and train for fewer no. of days in the week.

The below workout would have to completed in one day. You must repeat the cycle every Monday - Wednesday - Friday. The remaining 4 days would be rest days. Each exercise would consist of 4 sets. The first will be with 10 repetitions to sufficiently warm up the muscle. The next 3 sets would 8, 6, 6 with progressively heavier weights. Lifting heavy and in proper form is extremely important if you want to build mass. Do not cheat or compromise on the form or the weight. If you are going to lift comfortable weights and do the below workout, you will probably gain one or two pounds in 6 months. The heavier/harder you workout, more would be the gain.

# Flat Bench Press - 4 * 10, 8, 6, 6 (Chest)

# Military Press or Shoulder Press - 4 * 10, 8, 6, 6 (Shoulders)

# T Bar Row or Low Cable row - 4 * 10, 8, 6, 6 (Lats) # Squats - 4 * 10, 8, 6, 6 # Leg Press - 4 * 10, 8, 6, 6 # French press or Close grip bench press - 4 * 10, 8, 6, 6 (Triceps) # Barbell curls - 4 * 10, 8, 6, 6 (Biceps)

# Hammer Curls - 4 * 10, 8, 6, 6 (Bicep Brachialli)

# Wrist Curls - 4 * 10, 8, 6, 6 (Forearms) # Crunches or Hanging leg raises - 4 * 25 The above workout would take around 1 hour to complete if done without too much rest. If you feel, this workout is too much to do in one day, split it up as two parts. Chest, shoulders, lats and abs in the morning and legs and arms in the evening. Remember to wrap up everything in one day.

Give the body the next day to recuperate. Don't even go in the direction of the gym. Repeat the cycle on Wednesday.

Note: Eating properly is extremely important during such mass gain cycles. Eat at least 1 gram of protein per kg of body weight if you want to see your muscles grow in size.

Are you supposed to feel sore after weight lifting?

Usually yes. In the process of weight lifting, you are actually tearing/breaking down muscle tissue. The soreness you feel is related to how much tissue was broken down during your weight lifting session. This soreness can last for a day or two, or as long as a week. It all depends how much you lifted, and how intense your workout was. The old weight lifting saying goes " no pain, no gain", which is referring to the pain you feel after your workout.
