Are the Mondis Welder Generators reliable machines?
Yes they are very reliable. They use the same manufacturer as Snap-On, Brigggs & Stratton, etc. Have had one for 1 year and she runs like a champl
What is the difference between an arc welder and a stick welder?
Stick welding is also more difficult to learn and use, particularly the ability to strike and maintain an arc. Arc welders are available in AC, DC or AC/DC, with AC being the most economical. It's used for welding thicker metals of 1/16 inch or greater.
What degree does a welder need?
One doesn't need a degree to become a welder. To be a certified welder , grade 12 high school will do. The math is an important part. The written tests contain quite a bit of math, example trigonometry, fractions, Pi, etc.. One must be able to calculate areas of shapes, add-subtract dimension's, everything to do with a three dimensional object / structure. Also having a working knowledge of the way the world works, or common sense. Usually gained through higher learning.
Why must Gas Metal Arc welders have a 100 percent duty cycle?
The duty cycle of the welding machine indicates the time the machine can be energised before it must rest. Given in relation to a 10 minute time span, a machine with 100 per cent duty cycle can weld continuously for10 minutes, while machines with 50 per cent can only weld for 5 minutes.
Typically when welding by hand it is not necessary to weld continuously for long periods before letting off of the trigger which gives the machine its rest.
When the machine is set up for welding long beads, such as with a track system, then it is important to have the 100 per cent duty cycle. Otherwise the machine will kick off before a weld is completed.

What size welder do you need for 6mm steel?
In order to weld pieces of 6mm steel you can use any type of welder. Depending on how strong and how pretty the weld needs to be will determine the type of welder you choose.
Why do welders wear safety glasses?
Obvious one is ofcourse that the safety glasses shield the eyes from sparks and splashed hot material.
Another very important reason is that during the welding process ultraviolet rays are emitted and can and do cause harm to the retina and other parts of the eye.
In fact, one should not look directly at the welding process even from some distance without protecting the eyes.
What was your objective as a welder?
This is a personal decision for one to make. For most people who are welders , there are many objectives. Some are, financial , welders especially certified one can make good wages , but money isn't everything, one must enjoy working with metal , so personal enjoyment would be another, accomplishing a difficult task , welding is not just sticking metal together, it can be a very complicated process , so improving ones skill would be another. Building something falls in the satisfaction category . The down sides are .. it can be very hot at times , there are .. burns (and you will get them) dangerous fumes , light rays , electrical hazards , these can be minimized by taking precautions , one could go on , but it still remains , for the most part a personal choice.
Why is aluminum difficult to weld?
Aluminum is a bit more difficult to weld than steel , because of it's lower melting point. Also Aluminum takes more heat , because of it's property of absorbing and releasing the heat quicker. With the proper electrode , or rod , and amps to volt settings, along with a bit of practise , it can be quite simple . One usually has to have a faster travel speed with the filler rod or electrode.
What color is the acetylene gauge and what color is the oxygen gauge?
As far as I am aware. The gauges themselves are the same. Usually brass. Unless someone has painted them. The hoses on the other hand are red and green. The red being for the acetylene. A lot of times the tanks will be painted the same way although I have seen some acetylene tanks painted black.

Do you tig weld on dc straight or reverse polarity?
Tig is always done in straight polarity, i.e. electrode negative.
reason: almost 2/3rd of the heat is generated in positive terminal of weld, in this case the base metal and the rest in the negative terminal, in this case the tungsten electrode.
Also you don't want to deposit the tungsten electrode in the weld, do you?
Does mig welders or arc welders make more money?
That all depends on what type of arc welding you are doing, Mig, Tig or MMA (stick)
It also depends on what standard you are working at, what you are welding, where you are welding and the level of danger you are in i.e. are you in a warzone, underwater, high up etc etc.
A typical basic mig welder the does tables and chairs etc can look to be earning about 12,500 to 15,000 pounds a year.
A fully coded welder working on high pressure steam lines etc can earn upwards of 52,000 pounds a year.
Then you can factor in danger money, are you working away from home, overtime etc and get even greater amounts.
I had my Asmi 9 which is one step below coding and was earning about 26,000 a year welding sonic cleaners, furnaces and wire winding machinery.
It all comes down to your skill.
Which lubricant should be used when connecting the parts of an oxy fuel gas welder?
No petroleum based lubricants of any kind should be used on oxygen acetylene equipment. Using them can cause unexpected flash fires even if the equipment is not ready for use. If you need to lubricate threads on gauges or torch connections, use liquid soap.
What are the ranks of a welder?
In Canada they are called "levels" , and start with level "C" then B and A there are also higher levels of sorts like "boiler maker" , but most other levels are added certifications which involve the different processes, as example "all position FCAW" (flux core arc welding ) these certifications can be achieved at different levels. The aforementioned could be achieved at level C , B or A . All of which require separate testing.
Can you be a welder with one eye?
I don't see why not. If you can see well enough to use the equipment or handle OFC and Stick/MIG/TIG then you should be fine.
What is the daily task of a welder?
A welder's daily tasks typically involve interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine the required welding processes and materials. They prepare metal components by cutting, grinding, or cleaning surfaces before welding. Throughout the day, welders perform various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding, to join metal parts securely. They also inspect their work for quality and ensure compliance with safety standards.
