External subtitles files are not loadable into winamp in the standard functionalism of the program. No one has released a plugin to add this functionality either, but someone could do it in the future. You will have to use another program.
Actually, you may try Video Converter Studio that allows you to load subtitle file and merge it to video. There's a how-to tutorial about how to do this job, Hope it's helpful to you.
Winamp may have installed incorrectly or been mis-associated, and either is trying to play them wrong, or damaged your music codecs.
MP3 is actually short for MPEG 2 Layer 3, so your computer is not technically mis-identifying them.
Try re-downloading Winamp, or downloading and installing a different player.
Try the Winamp 5 Media Library Import/Export Plug-in http://bluemars.org/ml_impex/wa5-ml_impex1.3.exe (c) AGico
Or you can backup the files that this data is stored in, then after re-installing Winamp, just replace the new 'default' files with your backup files.
This post will tell you where these files are stored: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=263471
There are some older ports to mac of winamp, but those are mostly for earlier mac OSs like 8 or 9, maybe even 7, but none that are for OS X, I believe.

Once you install and start WinAMP, it will ask to search your computer for any/all compatible files (much like WMP does) -- so in that sense, yes it will.
You can download Winamp from their official website or you can try alternative sites: CNET, Filehippo, Google Play Store, Soft4hard, Tucows, Softpedia and Majorgeeks.
Winamp's own website features several skins that they like and these can be downloaded. There is also a tutorial on their blog about how to create your own Winamp skin.
This means the songs in the playlist are no longer located where they were when you first added them to your library. They will not play until you re-add the songs from their current location on your computer.
First, to remove the non-working copies of the songs, right click on any song in your media library, go to "Remove..." and select "Remove all dead files". This will delete anything that scrolls instead of playing.
Now, to get working copies, go to File -> Add Media to Library and browse to the folder you have your songs in, or just drag and drop the songs into Winamp. Now all of your songs should work, but you may need to recreate any playlists.
"more better" is improper grammar... Unless of course you spell and pronounce it thusly: "mo betta" the "mo" being pronounced like "mow the lawn" for example. I hope this gives you a mo betta grasp of good sentence structure! Peace out!
Winamp is predominantly a music player. While there have been plugins created which claim to allow Winamp to play video files, specifically MP4 formats, very few work. Additionally, those that do are extremely buggy. As such, the answer is sadly, no; Winamp does not support MP4 playback.
It's simple to use. You download, install and use it, in that order. Edit your playlist by adding the files you want and press play (also you can drag&drop them directly into the playlist). You can customize your player by adding a special skin. You have equalizers and so on.
There is no way, unfortunately, but such a feature is on the Winamp wishlist. The Winamp library cannot list the same file twice, so you're not going to have multiple iterations of the same file on your disk in the first place. If you, on the other hand, have duplicate songs on your hard drive that you want removed, I'd recommend a duplicate file cleaner (Google will bring up a nice list of programs that will get the job done), then use the "Remove missing files from media library" option on Winamp to remove the entries for the files the duplicate cleaner removed.

Winamp is a media player for your computer. You download it so that you can listen to audio files on your computer, not just in the form of music, but other audio files, such as ones of people talking, making noises, etc.
Winamp has a bug, that you can't simply delete an artist from the library with one 'remove' button. So the only way to do this is in the following steps:
1. Select an album by the artist under 'Album'. Select all tracks from the album in the track listing below (ctrl +a). Press 'delete' on your keyboard.
2. Repeat this process for all albums so that all tracks by the artist are deleted.
3. In the bottom left corner, click the 'Library' button. Select 'Remove missing files from media library'. The artist will be removed from the library.
This will not affect your files and folders, only the library info in winamp. This is a pretty simple process if you have a couple of albums by the artist, but can get a little irritating if you have entire discographies. Winamp should fix this with a simple 'remove' button in its next version.
Double-click on a playlist file to automatically load all the songs into Winamp. Also check your preferences.
