The Battle of the Windmill affected the animals of Animal Farm greatly. The animals had spent two years building the windmill and within a few minutes all their hard work had been destroyed. Put yourself in the animals position. How would you feel? Your blood, sweat and tears were basically a waste and nothing is left of your hardship.

Most of the wind-"mills" were actually wind-pumps built for polder-drainage.

Go into any store....your choice, ask them to carry the brand that you like.....with in 2 weeks I bet they will have it in stock. Safeway I guess is the best store...maybe try Wal Mart........which ever is closest!

I take it that you are referring to a wind turbine? A wind turbine doesn't save energy; it generates energy. It can be argued that it is more 'eco-friendly', but of course it takes energy to manufacture and install wind turbines, and the only reason they are used is because they are heavily subsidised through increase energy bills to consumers; without these subsidies, wind turbines wouldn't even be considered as a practical source of energy. This is because the energy generated is appallingly-low, and their output cannot be guaranteed to match demand, and they are very expensive.

There are wind turbine towers that are as tall as 262 feet, installed in Texas, according to a scientific paper titled, "LARGE SCALE DEPLOYMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY BY COMBINING WIND FARMS WITH SOLAR THERMAL POWER PLANTS."

A windmill was used in the old days to help grind grain into flour. Today it is used to change wind or kinetic energy into electrical energy and place it out on the Electrical Grid for people to use.

The typical wind system delivers roughly 8 to 10% of what systems are rated at 28 MPH. If the wind gusts over this amount the system shuts down. If the wind falls to 14 MPH you see 10% of rated. At 11 MPH you see nothing. To compensate for this issue, fossil fuel plants run in the background. The energy they use and CO2 output is ignored because wind generators are connected.

The overall effect is that no useful power is ever created if you consider the fossil fuel plants idling. Check out the number of birds killed each year by wind and you have a really bad system. They should be banned.

How many windmills it takes to power a city depends on the amount and reliability of the wind, the power output of each windmill, and the power requirements of the city.
