While i am not exactly sure what your problem is, here are some troubleshooting tips that I used and helped me. First try rebooting your computer and running movie maker again. If this step fails, try control alt delete, and go to your the processes tab in the task manager. Look for the image name "svchost.exe." There should be several of them. Find the one that takes up the most Memory and highlight it. Click the "end process" button at the bottom. This should fix it, I know it was my problem with Movie Maker.
