How do you put commentary in your video with Windows Live Movie Maker?
You can't do that with Windows Live Movie Maker because the Narration feature is not available with that version of the program.
WMM (Windows Movie Maker) can't import .mov, .mp4 or .AVI files into the program. Files containing these file name extensions have to be converted to one of the extensions listed below before they can be imported into WMM:
.asf, .avi, dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv
To convert the .mp4 file you have, you first need to download a 'video converter'. Free video converters are available online... Simply Google "Free video converters". I use Koyote Soft free Video Converter 1.3 myself because it is easy to use, free to download and is not a trial period evaluation. But, any video converter you download will work.
Once you have a video converter downloaded, use the program's browse feature to locate the .mp4 video you wish to convert. When it is in the conversion pane, choose an 'output source' you want to convert it to (one of the extensions mentioned above). Follow the conversion instructions.
When conversion is complete, you will be able to import and edit it in Windows Movie Maker.
Good Luck!
Another Contributor Says: I have found that you can download the new Youtube Downoader and use the convert setting on it. You then convert it to a WMV and import it into WMM. But make sure you click on more options on the save movie screen and set it to 1000 KB or else the quality will be really poor.
