President Wilson's goals for a postwar settlement were called the Fourteen Points. Woodrow Wilson was President from 1913 to 1921.

The African Americans and women were angry with president Wilson for various reasons. The main reason was the fact that he was a racist.

No- George Washington gave his state of the union addresses in person before before Congress. I think other presidents gave some important speeches in person. What Wilson did was to revive the practice of giving an annual address in person to Congress, a practice that Jefferson had discontinued.

The Fourteen Points Plan did not work because many of the points were deemed unreasonable to the other countries like Britain and France. They also did not want the U.S. to control any peace treaties since they entered World War I late.

A major problem with the Fourteen Points is that most of the Allied Powers did not believe they were practical. Wilson's call to cease private alliances and form a league of nations would cause a very sudden change from a system that had existed for a long time in Europe.

The kind of peace he wanted was to stop people from suffering thorugh violent actions such as war with each other or war with other nations.

Germany planned to start unrestricted Submarine warfare on US and invited Mexico to join. (Germany was planning on breaking the Sussex pledge). · British influence in the US - Americans wanted to enter on the side of the Allies because the Germans and countries on the other side of the Allies were attacking us. · Submarine warfare and freedom of the seas - Germany was planning on starting submarine warfare on US and trying to control the seas. Then US wouldn't have any freedom and wouldn't be able to trade.

Wilson was the 28th president of the United States. He was a liberal which basically means he supported free market and less government intervention. You could also describe him as the founder of modern liberalism and foreign policy.

He did not want to be involved in the war because he held isolationist ideals. This means that he isolated the U.S. from the war, remaining neutral. He believed that becoming involved in the war could only be bad for our country.

Wilson wished to remain neutral in WW1 to keep from being pulled into the European alliance system, and to keep from making enemies in other countries.
It was believed at the time that it was unnecessary for the US to get involved in European wars, since Europe was separated from the US by the Atlantic ocean, and was therefore at a safe distance. It would upset a large portion of his country if he chose sides. He won re-election with the slogan , "He kept us out of war", so the people seemed to be behind him.
