What is the scoring for Yahtzee?

After you roll the dice three times, you can register a score in any of 13 categories, then the next round begins. Once you have scored in a category you can't use it again. The categories are as follows:

Upper_section">Upper sectionAces: 1 point for each one (ace)

Twos: 2 points for each two

Threes: 3 points for each three

Fours: 4 points for each four

Fives: 5 points for each five

Sixes: 6 points for each six

Upper section bonus: 35 points are awarded if all of the scores registered in the upper section add to 63 or more. Note that a 3 of a kind in each adds up to exactly 63.

Lower sectionIf you register in one of these without the required combination (except for Chance) it scores zero points.

Three of a kind: The sum of all the dice if at least three of them show the same number

Four of a kind: The sum of all the dice if at least four of them show the same number Full house: 25 points for three of a kind and a pair together

Small straight: 30 points if four of the dice are in numerical order (i.e. 1-2-3-4, 2-3-4-5 or 3-4-5-6)

Large straight: 40 points if all five dice are in numerical order (i.e. 1-2-3-4-5 or 2-3-4-5-6)

Chance: The sum of the dice. Often used if you can't score in anything else.

Yahtzee: 50 points if all five dice show the same number

Yahtzee bonus: If you get more than one Yahtzee, and the Yahtzee box was not discarded (scored zero), along with the score for whatever category you register it in, 100 bonus points are scored for a 2nd, 3rd and 4th Yahtzee in one game.

Note that bonuses don't count as scoring categories.

What is a barn full of 8' rough cut lumber worth?

Do you mean the wood is stored inside, or that the barn is completely built from rough-cut that can be salvaged? It depends on what type of wood it is (hardwood, softwood), how old it is, whether it is fresh or salvaged, the quality (warp, check, twist, etc), where it is located, and how big the barn is, and how "full" it is, among other things. Around here (northern New Hampshire), good quality, fresh, softwood, 2-inch, rough-cut dimension lumber (spruce/pine/fir) retails for around 45 cents per board foot ($5.40 per cubic foot), more if it is seasoned, less if it is at wholesale quantity. Five-quarter planks are less. You can have your own wood sawed for $155 per thousand board feet (or 30 percent more if it's hardwood). So, if you have a solid stack that is 10 feet wide, 5 feet high, 8 feet long, that would be approximately $2,100. A two-story barn, 40 feet by 80 feet, over 100 years old, built with rough-cut lumber, is worth about twelve dollars in salvage, unless it has been well maintained. Usable antique post-and-beam structures are becoming collectors' items, and the sky is the limit, if you have the right market.
