Only female cats go into heat, after they have been spayed the heat cycle stops.

I learned this just recently.......BUT....sometimes a spayed cat CAN GO INTO HEAT.

How??? Here's my story.

I found a three week old kitten and decided to adopt it. She was very tiny and thin and I nursed her back to health. We named her Meere Kat. At five months old, we decided to get her spayed. The vet called me after the surgery to let me know that the surgery took a little longer than a usual spay. The vet told me that Meere Kat did not have a fully developed uterus and could only find one ovary on the left side. The vet told me that it was important to do a little exploratory surgery to try to find all the reproductive tissues and see if there were any other abnormalities. During the exploratory surgery, it was also found that Meere Kat was missing a right kidney. The vet told me that it was probably a genetic problem and could have been the reason the mother cat abandoned her. Meere Kat came home and did take longer to come out of the anesthesia due to only having one kidney. The vet told me upon her 10 day checkup after the surgery that it was possible for her to come into heat. About 15 days after the spay, she went into heat. After researching, I found that it can happen shortly after the spay due to hormonal changes and not happen again; OR, it may continue to happen just like an UN-spayed cat.

So...I will wait and hopefully she won't go back into heat a second time. If she does, then I have two options:

1. Bring her back to have another exploratory surgery to (hopefully, but not guaranteed) to find the remaining reproductive tissues during her heat cycle. But this could be hard on her one and only kidney.

2. Keep her as she is....a very spoiled and special kitty.

No. Once all the sexual organs of the cat have been removed, which is what spaying involves, it is no longer possible for a cat to be in heat. However, it is possible for her to think she is in heat, and act like it in some ways, from what might be called force of habit.

They shouldn't, because the spay surgery removes all ovarian tissue that would cause a heat cycle. However, on rare occasions a remnant of ovarian tissue may be left during the surgery and this can cause a heat cycle. You should notify your veterinarian of this and see if the surgery was not completed correctly.

Should you get the male and female sibling cats you just inherited fixed if they are 4 to 5 years old are not fixed and have produced no kittens thus far?

Speak to your vet first. Just because there is a female/male cat in the house doesn't always mean they like each other that much and will produce kittens. The cats are older and vets generally like to spay or neuter cats or dogs at a much earlier age and this can be hard on the cats being 5 years old. This is a decision you and your vet are going to have to make. Marcy If you don't want kittens, then yes. Get them fixed. agreed whether they "like" each other or not they WILL do the deed as soon as the chance presents itself....cats can reproduce at an amazing rate rivaled only by rabbits and rodents nip it in the bud asap the younger the better great health benefits faster and easier recovery

Will the male rabbit kill the kits?

You must separate the male from the female rabbit. Generally a male rabbit won't kill his offspring. But once the deed has been done, in the wild the male rabbit will usually leave the female and leave her to do her thing.

If a deed is signed but not recorded for 6 months is the signing date legal?

As long as the deed is valid, no other deed for the property has been recorded and the parties are living then the deed can be recorded. If there have been any other deeds recorded or any of the parties have died you should seek the advice of an attorney before recording the deed.

Does a grantee still own the property granted by a grantor if grantor is dead?

Generally, yes. The grantor on a deed is the one who owns the property and is transferring it to the grantee. Once the deed has been executed and delivered to the grantee the grantee is the new owner and they must record the deed in the land records as proof of their ownership. The subsequent death of the grantor has no effect on the grantee's ownership.
