you dont have to remove it totally. just undo the engine mount bolts raise the engine up just enough to get to the bolts that are usually hidden under the crossmember. must use a cherry picker to lift engine. make sure not to lift to high or you will break the exhaust.
No, the pump can be changed without dropping or removing the engine.
no, u need to remove the heads to get at the lifters
I did it, just supported transmission and changed engine just like any other car.
To put a straight six in a 93 Ranger the engine will have to bolt up to the transmission or the bell housing will have to be changed. The engine mounting brackets will probably need to be modified, and the wiring for engine sensors will have to be changed for any connector differences.
You gotta go from underneath the truck between the frame and the engine and its good to have a friend with long skinny arms to do this.
The oil pan on a 92 Ford Ranger is removed by taking out by placing a drain pan under the engine, removing the retaining bolts, and prying the pan loose. It can then be lowed from the engine and removed.
2.3 L engine in a 1998 Ranger???? The 2.5 L cam belt should be changed at 120,000 miles.
You are better taking off the engine with the transmission together, I have a 93' Vigor and changed the transmission and it pretty hard, there many bolts that are hard to get; if you need to changed your engine, it will be much easier taking the transmission off while the engine is off the vehicle..
Any four liter engine should work in your 1994 Ford Ranger cup truck. The Ford four liter engine may need the motor mounts to be changed.
yes when the engine is out and upside down
