When 50g of sugar is dissolved in 100 ml of water there is no increase involume what characteristicof matter is illustrated by this observation?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There is no increase in volume because liquids molecules are not tightly packed they have spaces between them and sugar settle in the spaces

How can you be certain that a chemical change has occurred?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Signs of chemical reactions may be:

- Gas release

- Formation of a precipitate

- Change of color

- Change of odor

- Change of pH

How is the Hydrogen ion concentration of stomach acid - with a pH of 2.0 - found?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The definition of pH is used, which is, pH=-logH+concentration.

Since you know the pH, this turns into an algebra problem:

2.0 = -logH+concentration

Then, logH+concentration = -2

H+concentration = 10-2, or 1/100. The H+ concentration is 0.01 M.

How do you use household bleach on your anus?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

That is decidedly dangerous as the bleach can cause serious skin damage to this sensitive area

Is rust a part of earth science?

What are the elements names and how many atoms are in 2H2SO4?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

H2S04 is sulfuric acid. In total it has seven atoms: two hydrogen, one sulphur and four oxygen. In 2 moles of it you would have double the number of atoms, so 14.

How do you make a pencil holder using wood?

How many moles of KBr will be produced from 7 moles of BaBr2?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

None, unless there is metallic potassium in the reaction mixture. Assuming excess potassium metal is present then 14 moles of KBr can be produced.

7BaBr2 + excess potassium -----> 14KBr + 7 Ba

What are the elements' names and how many atoms are in 2H2SO4?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

H2SO4 is Sulfuric Acid. If it has the number 2 in front of the whole compound it means there are two molecules in the reaction. The number of atoms in 1 molecule is (2 x hydrogen, 1 x sulfur, 4 x oxygen), therefore in two molecules there are 4, 2 and 8 respectively which gives a total of 14 atoms.

Does an ice cube have more or less heat than a firework spark?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Less. Firework spark is generated by fuse friction, ice by freezing water and the water expands.

Is koolaid polar or non polar?

User Avatar

polar, it's made of water (polar) and sugar (which is dissolved and coated with a shell of hydration)

What is the volume of H2 gas at -273 degree celsius?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

-273 degrees celsius is absolute 0, which cannot be achieved

theoretically, however, the answer to your question is 0 (as goes for any gas, but here's another mind boggler for you: it won't be a gas at absolute 0 either)

more complex explanation below:

_________________________________________________________

The ideal gas is only ideal, if it follows this mathematical rule (the ideal gas law).

Dividing it by the pressure, you get: Volume = Mass * Some Constant * Temperature / Pressure

If the Temperture is zero you get: Volume = 0 / Pressure = 0

So the volume is 0, if the temperture is 0.

The ideal gas exists only theoreticaly.

Logically the volume can't be 0 and therefor no gas is ideal.

What is meant by the transition interval of an indicator?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The pH range over which an indicator changes color.

How will increasing the temperature affect the equilibrium?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It depends if the reaction is exothermic or endothermic. For example:

If the reaction requires energy (endothermic), then energy (i.e. 100kJ) will be a reactant on the left-hand side. Then, use Le Chatelier's Principle from there. If you increase the temperature of the system in equilibrium, it will shift towards the product/right-hand side. If you decrease the temperature of the system, it will shift towards the reactants/left-hand side.

What synthetic materials replaced natural materials?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There are many. At one time Linseed Oil was the resin used by painters. It has been replaced by synthetic resins such as alkyds.

Styrene-Butadiene ruuber has replaced natural rubber in many applications.

Plastics, polymers and composites have replaced or partially replaced many metals and wood.
