The AA showed me where mine was on a 2004 laguna - auto. lean over the radiator and look for the cable loom - just to the right of centre is a small spur which connects to the sensor, there is a 10mm bolt holding the sensor in place. All reasonably reachable From the bonnet remove the air housing and on the right hand side of the gear box near the top you will see a black component bolted to a yellow strip.

Turn on the ignition but do not start the car, press the button on the end of the wiper arm until the "miles to next service" is displayed on the odometer. Then press and hold the trip reset button until the display resets to 18000. This should also turn out the service and stop light. Turn off the ignition then restart the car.

If your car has serv (amber ) and stop (red) lights showing it could the immobiliser.

My 1996 Laguna lights come on and car won't start. Car needs to be started within a certain time period of doors being unlocked.

Using key lock all doors then re-open this should reset system.

I have had stop light on until car is started 3 times successfully (resets codes)

What is the cause of high idle speed?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

High Idle speed can happen due to few reason. Normal Idle speed should be 800-850 RPM. First check the air hoses for any leaks. Clean the Idle control valve. Then check the throttle position sensor under the throttle body. Check the accelerator cable cable and stop position (do not try to change the original stop position). I hope these will help.

Answersometimes a vacuum leak can cause the idle to be a little higher then normal . .. other symptoms of this are a decrease in over all proformance . . .

to check it, try clamping down on each vac line that you can see with vice grips, use a lighter setting on the plyers and use a piece of rubber so you don't damage the rubber vac hoses

Clio 172 airbag warning light?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

the airbag warning light will cost you $550 to fix as they will need to refit a new airbag and then clear the codes that only a renault dealer can do.

I have just spend another $2000 trying to fix the engine immoboliser light which after spending the money to rewire the rear lights as I was advised they were shorting out and this was the cause of the problem the next day after collecting the car the engine immoboliser light cam on again and renault advise that they cannot find anything else wrong with the car. My 2003 renault clio has had more problems than anyone could imagine. at 85000km the timing belt went. (under the 4 year time and under 20000km of being replaced the only thing not covered under the warranty was the timing belt. $3500 later. very expensive car and I cannot suggest enough to keep getting your car checked. Renault offered to buy my car back for $350 yes $350

How do you remove your front bumper off your clio 172?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

remove top torx screw in arch liner, peel back liner to expose 10mm bolt (1 each side). remove lower torx screws located on bottom edge of bumper almost in line with foglamps. underneath car you will find a plastic flap attached to crossmember, you can either drill out the rivets at the front or remove the 3 10mm bolts at the rear. last but not least remove the two torx screws (1 each side) located in gap between bumper and bonnet. unplug the fog lamp connector located behind passanger side foglamp.

pull bumper tips out and pull bumper forward and free from the vehicle.
