During WW2, most of Europe was taken over by Nazi Germany. However, Europe was gradually liberated after D-Day, and eventually was completely free a shot time later. Soon after, Nazi Germany was defeated in the Battle of Berlin
After WW2, Germany was divided into 2 sections, one half was capitalist and controlled by Allies, the other half was Communist and controlled by Soviet Union ( soviets were an Allies they just didn't help with the capitalist side because they were communist, so they other half of Germany)
All in all, WW2 destroyed Germany and caused to fall under control of allies. however, it did help economy world wide, especially in America
WWII affected Europe in several ways.
Economically, it consumed the resources of all of the countries involved. It destroyed cities and infrastructure in the area where fighting or bombing occurred. Under the Marshall Plan, the countries of Western Europe received huge amounts of foreign aid from the US.
Sociologically, it resulted in Eastern Europe being both devastated by the war and by its aftermath. Huge numbers of soldiers and civilians had been killed, and the governments were destabilized. In areas that were occupied by the Soviet armies, communist governments were able to exert their influence, and countries that were not already part of the Soviet Union came under its domination behind the Iron Curtain.
The war and the Holocaust had resulted in decimation of ethnic populations. This included the deaths of up to 6 million Jews and many of the 3.3 million Soviet POW's. Other losses included 1.8 million non-Jewish Poles, 200,000 Romanis ('gypsies'), 300,000 disabled persons, thousands of homosexuals, and 5000 Jehovah's Witnesses. Nearly 30% of the European population was exterminated, comparable to the effect of the Black Death.
Internationally, the changes wrought in countries and their people left some areas inherently unstable. Like the Middle East, the Balkans would undergo shifts in ethnic populations that led to armed conflicts more than 30 years later.
On a larger scale, Europe became polarized during the Cold War as Western Europe under NATO competed militarily with Eastern Europe under the Warsaw Pact, with some events threatening to escalate into a nuclear confrontation between the US and the USSR.
World War 2 began in Europe when Britain and France declared war on Germany upon its invasion of Poland. However, Germany had already been engaging in aggressive acts against its neighbors for several years.
Germany was bent on conquering all of Europe and therefor invaded almost every country in Europe. Michael Montagne
Alof Hittler a bad man from Austria came to Germany. He was mentally sick, and wanted to control every country in Europe. He told to the Russians that they can have half of Poland and Germany to. That’s when Poland on maps practically disappeared. And Alof Hittler started to invade other countries.
