there are three 10mil bolts in the column you have the steering wheel off and the lock plate and the trun assembly out and the bolts should be visible one on the bottom and two on the top Update - Sept 25, 2008

Actually on the 90-91 Chevy S-10 tilt steering column there are four E10 Star bolts that need to be tighten. Because of the age, I would also recommend that the two upper column bearings be replaced as well. There are three column bearings total, two uppers and one lower. The bearings can be purchased at your local Chevy Parts dealer. Both upper bearings come as a kit assembly GM part# 7844651, the lower bearing is part# 7805700. There are 4 bolts at the bottom of the steering column that tend to get loose after entering and exiting your vehicle. How do you change or fix a loose tilt steering column on a 1991 Chevy 1500 truck?

It depends on if it is the column itself, or the steering wheel. The wheel is held on with a bolt, I doubt it loosened, unless it was recently worked on. The column mounts can be loose or damaged( due to an accident). They can be tightened or replaced. With the problem is inside the column, it is needs replacing, with new or 1 from a scrap yard.

How much should you expect to pay to fix a steering column on a 91 Chevy crs?

What it would cost to fix your steering column depends on what is wrong with it and you did not tell us. The tilt steering column in my 1989 GMC Suburban became loose in the tilt mechanism. I was quoted as much as $125.00 to fix it, but I shopped around and got it repaired for $60.00. Unless your steering column has the same problem that number is probably useless. I would suggest you call several shops and get a quite to fix it.
