This is a good time to service the system. If one hose is bad, replace both the upper and lower unless you have already replaced the lower. Also check the heater hoses carefully and replace if in doubt. Drain the radiator and remove and replace the thermostat. Fill it up with a 50/50 mixture of the proper anti-freeze and distilled water. Bleed all air from the system.
It is located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose. To replace it partially drain the radiator into a container. Remove the hose from the housing and remove the 2 bolts. Lift the housing and remove the thermostat. Clean both surfaces and install the new thermostat. Install the 2 bolts and upper radiator hose. Refill the radiator to the top and then top off the reservior.jd
drain the radiator down below the top hose and unhook the hose from the radiator and the engine and pull the hose off.
Partially drain the radiator into a container. Remove the upper hose at the engine end. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat. Clean both surfaces and install the thermostat, install the housing and the 2 retaining bolts. install the upper radiator hose and top off the coolant. It is located at the engine end of the top radiator hose in the thermostat housing.
Drain the radiator. Remove the top radiator hose on the 2003 Buick Century. Unbolt the hose inlet. Remove the inlet housing and take out the thermostat. Replace the thermostat, install the housing and top hose, and refill with antifreeze.
Drain the vans radiator. Remove the top radiator hose and water inlet. take the thermostat out. Put in the new thermostat and re install the inlet and hose. Refill the radiator.
Drain the radiator into a suitable container. Remove the upper radiator hose at the engine. Remove the 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat. Clean both surfaces and install the thermostat and gasket. Install the housing and the upper radiator hose. Top off the radiator.
Drain off the radiator coolant into a clean drain pan. Loosen radiator hose clamps. Remove radiator hose. Install in reverse order.
Drain the radiator into a container. Remove the top radiator hose at the engine. Remove the 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat and clean the surfaces. Install the new thermostat, housing,and bolts. Reinstall the top radiator hose and fill with coolant.
Look on top of the radiator and follow the hose from the radiator to the thermostat housing. Look on the bottom of the radiator and follow the hose up to bottom of the block.
follow the top radiator hose to the engine. that is where your thermostat is. you will have to drain the radiator, remove the engine side of the hose and remove the thermostat housing to access it. remove thermostat clean mating surface of housing and engine, install thermostat, install housing, secure radiator hose, fill with coolant. start engine and check for leaks.
Upper is hose connected to top of radiator, lower is hose connected to bottom of radiator.
Drain the radiator into a container. Follow the top radiator hose to the engine. Remove the clamp and the bolts holding the thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat and seal. Clean both surfaces and install the new thermostat and seal. Reinstall the housing and top radiator hose. Top off with antifreeze.jd
