Have water in the sink and either a snake or a plunger. Either one will let a few grains go down the drain and eventually it will open. Run plenty of water after it opens to flush out the drain.

Clogged drains in the kitchen and bathroom can prove to be a problem. After you have tried liquid drain cleaners with no luck, try a plumbing snake. The snake is inserted into the drain and goes only a certain depth. If there is any kind of clog into the drain, it will either push it through the plumbing system or you can pull the clog out with the snake. Make sure that you are using the end of the plumbing snake that has the small hook on the end so you can easily pull anything out of the drain that may be stuck in it.

For slow draining/plugged bathroom sinks then most of the problems are either in the trap, push/pull or within 10' of your sink drain line in most homes. For a home owner, I recommend buying a 1/4 inch snake and taking out your push/pull or drain stop and then snaking out from the sink drain and if you unplug the sink drain make sure you run water down your drain as you snake out the sink drain and that will make your snake clear the pipes better. If you can't get your push/pull out, then get a bucket and take off the trap then you can snake out your drain and or clean out your trap. When you put the trap back together its a good idea to use pipe seal/dope around your compression nuts or in some cases buy a new trap.
another clog, further down the drain pipe. You need a drain snake.
If it's a sink drain , best to remove the entire pipe and P trap. I then take outside and hose them out.
It is just a coiled wire with a larger end on the that is fed down the drain to either break through the clog or grab the clog and pull it back up. It looks like a long coiled spring that is squashed together.
