Depends on the tribe. Southwestern would have corn as a staple food, but Northwestern would have fish, seal, and whales. The plains tribes usedbuffalo as one of their main foods. It was used for everything. The southeastern tribes grew crops and hunted deer, rabbits,and fished. Northwestern tribes also grew crops and hunted. The region where they lived determined what they grew and hunted.
