What is the most poisonous snake in Pennsylvania?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Pennsylvania lists three venomous (not poisonous, since venom is injected and not ingested), the Northern Copperhead, the Timber Rattlesnake and the Eastern Massasauga which is an endangered species.

The Massasauga is the most venomous and the least likely to be observed. Observed is the operative word since snake bites are a very rare occurrence and death resulting from snakebite happen only about 15 times each year in the United States according to the Center for Disease Control. Out of every 500 people who are bitten in the US by a venomous snake 499 will survive.

The US Department of Transportation reports that 'Bambi' collisions result in 130 US motorists dying each year. If you see a snake, remain calm and allow it to make its escape. If you are bitten seek medical treatment.

What spider is black with a little yellow and lives in Pennsylvania?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I see those commonly around where I live. I can't tell you for certain without a picture but I can tell you the most common black spider with yellow on its back and legs (sometimes different patterns) is the Banana Spider. As far as I know I believe it IS poisonous. If you see one then either leave it alone, or kill it from a distance. (I'd prefer something hard like a shovel. I wouldn't even attempt a spider spray because it's likely not to work because of it's size and if it DID work you would PROBABLY be using ALOT of it. Be easier and cheaper just to pulverize it from a distance.

What is runt in Pennsylvania German?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You probably are inspired by the movie "Witness", a case where a criminal is referred to by Samuel Lapp, the little boy, as "schtumpig".

Rachel Lapp, his mother, tells John Book (HarrisonFord) "On a farm, when a pig is born small like that, it's called schtumpig, a runt"

A more generalized phrase is wicht des Wurfes.

Can you hunt on your own property without a license in Pennsylvania?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

felons can hunt in pa with a bow or muzzle loader . for these weapons are not controlled under the same gun laws as shotguns , rifles or handguns. they can also hunt with a shotgun or rifle but they must barrow one. and must return the gun from whom they borrowed it the same day they borrowed it. they aren't allowed to own or keep one at their residence. the only way a felon can't hunt is if they are on probation or parole and were told there aren't allowed to posses any kind of weapon by their parole or probation officer. some felons are also required to sign a document stating they will never posses any weapon ever. but i think that depends on what kind of crime they commited. i.e murder

Who are Current NFL players from Pennsylvania?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

According to Western PA Football's website that has information on high school football there is a list of players drafted in 2009. There are three players played for Pitt (College I know). LeSean McCoy, Scott McKillop, and LaRod Stephens-Howling.

Among those 2009 draft picks...

Pat McAfee played for Plum Senior High School and A.Q. Shipley played for Moon Area High School.

In addition Ty Law who I believe is a free agent currently came from Aliquippa. And Tyler Palko played for West Allegheny High School.

On the Steelers roster there is:

Charlie Batch from Homestead, PA.

Jason Capizzi from Gibsonia, PA.

A.Q. Shipley from Coraopolis, PA.

Ryan Mundy from Forest Hills, PA.

That's just to name a few.
