drain the box and change the oil is this dosent work try changing out the auto solenoids if they are available cheap otherwse there is not much you can do but bring it to a Honda agent and expect to pay big bucks for the fix.
Problem with the A/T. I suggest you take it to a Honda dealer or a trusted transmission professional.
Hey. I hate to give you or anyone with the same problem any bad news. But I have a 2000 prelude type sh. It want go in reverse check the cables under the car or take it to a transmission shop it could be that. But my cable was fine and it turned out to be my transmission. Hope this helps

When you have problem shifting gears, you transmission has a problem.
I just went through that exact problem with my 88 prelude, it was the ignition cylinder.
balljoint or control arm. Or possibly CV joints had the same problem with a 92 prelude
What type transmission and what problem?
It sound like the switch needs to be adjusted down below the brake pedal. Someone thought it might be a solenoid problem? Does that sound right?
If it is a transmission problem, the best thing you can do is have the transmission rebuilt. That will fix the problem and prevent any further damage to the transmission.
