Eggs dont boil. Hot water boils and cooks the egg contents in 30 minutes. It won't boil before it explodes. Test this in your microwave oven. They don't boil. You can only boil egg in hot water and that cook the egg shell's contents.
Two options are 1. Boil the egg in it's shell..... boil for 3 mintues and you have a soft boiled egg, usually eated for breakfast or boil for upto 8 minutes and you have a hard boiled egg, good for salads a Sandwiches. 2. Boil the egg (without shell) for about 3 minutes and you have a poached egg, great on a slice of hot buttered toast.
Poached should done on fresh egg,before poached it salt and vinegar must added in the boiled water help in quicker coagulation and avoid disintegration of the egg.
You could boil them, which only uses boiling water, no fat or you could poach them which also uses boiling water, so no fat :)
