It was very possible for the Germany forces to have won WWII or to at least have extended the war for many years. How?

Here is a very quick break down.

1) If the Germans had captured the 338,000+ British and French soldiers at Dunkirk when eastern France fell in 1940, these troops would not have been able to fight in North Africa or in Normandy.

2)If the Germans had suceeded in winning the Battle of Britain the Allies would not have had a place to launch the Normady invasion and would have all but eliminated the ability for the Allied to create a second front.

3) The primary goal of the German invasions of Russia and North Africa was for these two forces to battle eastward separately but both towards a common goal - the vast oil fields of Russia. With the capture and control of these oil field, the Germans would have had fuel and oil supplies for many many years. The German forces in North Africa were turned back at El Alamien by the British forces and pushed against the Americans and forced to retreat from North Africa at Tunis. The invasion of Russia started too late in the year and the winter weather forced the German's to halt their advanced until the spring which gave time for the Russia's time to re-inforce their position - which over the next three years, the Russia's forced the Germans back to Berlin. If the German's had invaded Russia a few months earlier they could have captured Moscow, Stalingrad and most likely the oil fields all before winter - plus defeating the Russian forces.

4) Other key event would be if the Germans had defeated the Russians at Stalingrad, if the German U-Boats had succeeded in winning the Battle of the Atlantic, if the Panzer reserves had been aloud to attack the British, Canadian and American forces on the Normandy Beaches instead of being held back by a sleeping Hitler.

IF all of most of thees factors had come to pass, the Germans would have occupied and held all of Europe including the British Isles, all of Scandinavia, all or most of Russia - including the Ukraine and Crimea and all of the Middle East and all of North Africa. At this time the German forces could re-group and re-supply for invasions of the far east regions of Russia and into China, India, etc. Suggested ideas for battle plans were found for the invasion of Japan and Italy (German Allies!!??) as well as for the ultimate invasion of the Americas - most likely though the Bering Strait out of Russia into Alaska and down into Northern Canada as well as massing forces into Argentina (there was a very large population of Germans there) for attack north from South America. Of course it would have taken years for the Germans to transport enough material to Eastern Russia and Agentina to have this ability, which at the same time the Candian and American forces would also be building there force. Some computer based role playing games even have missions or battles based on the German invasion of the States.

I hope this was of some help, I know it is brief. A book you might find interesting is a book called "The Hitler Options" by Stoddart Publishing which reviews many the descison made by Hitler and if he had done something different how the war might have changed.

Yes, Germany could have won WWII. If they had collared the Allies at Dunkirk, it would have left Britain with only 4 divisions in Britain. Churchill would most likely have been forced out of office & Britain would have sued for peace. If they hadn't, then the Germans could have moved into North Africa in July/40 & swept through to Iran & down the Eastern coast of Africa by early 1941, with little use of resources. Britain would have lost further forces & would be impotent other than naval blockade & bombing. But with African territories & Middle East oil fields, the blockade would be immaterial. This would have taken place prior to Italy invading Greece. Greece was pro German & would have probably joined the Axis, with Germans in Iraq. Turkey would have followed suit. Furthermore, without an Army, Britain would have been forced to take further civilians out of the work force immediately, production of arms would have temporarily fallen, just when they needed them. With the addition of Greece & Turkey in the Axis camp, that would have given the Germans a further 60 divisions to use against Russia. The divisons that were used to occupy Yugoslavia & Greece (German, Italian & Bulgarian) could then be used to watch Yugoslavia (instead of invading it) Yugolsavia without Russian/British assistance wouldn't have done anything. The invasion of Russian could then have started in mid to late May, giving the Axis 4+ weeks more to cripple Russia. Wasn't necessarily a mistake stopping at Smolensk & eliminating Kiev pocket. But, the Germans should have started the effort earlier. They could have then used the two armoured groups to sweep everything away in Southern Russia. With the Turks/German's coming up through the Caucasus, this wouldn't take long. Russia without her oil, would be a lame duck. Hitler shouldn't have assumed Leningrad would fall by starvation. He should have allowed the continued attack. It could have been taken, freeing up seventeen divisions for the attack on Moscow. Germans should have also a) increased arms production b) continued research on new weapons systems ( Electic U Boat, Tiger tank, Jet fighters/bombers, surface to air missles, night vision equipment, assault rifles etc, etc, etc) c) Put Manstein in charge of operational planning d) Captured Murmansk. Without all those Lend Lease goods, especially the trucks & locomotives, Russia would be finished without everything else happening. America delivered 1900 locomotive in WWII. Russia only built 94 in same period. Russia moved most of it's men & equipment via rail. This could have all been prevented. One extra locomotive a day being destroyed would have meant the Russia wouldn't be moving after three years, no matter what else happened. With Russia out, wouldn't matter if America was in it or not. An undefeated German army operating on one front could never be beaten by Commonwealth/America alliance. Allies just couldn't muster enough troops.

The answer is no. The media and game companies produce games like Wolfe stein (Sorry I never saw how the game was spelled) but the reality is that even if the Nazi's had won against the US and Russia forces that joined the Allies. They couldn't have won because the sheer number of countries that stood in their way of "uniting" the father land, and also they would had to fight against themselves, you see. Japan back then also believed that it was their right and destiny to rule the world. But this would have conflicted with Germany and civil war would ensue. So, sorry wolfenstein (I think that's how you spell it.) fans, its just not statistically possible.

:

"Could" is a pretty open concept so the answer must be yes. Much speculative fiction is written about minor changes in events making significant changes in history. As an example the German supply of heavy water was only disrupted by chance and good luck. If things had gone differently Britain and America would have been subject to atom bombs not Japan. In this universe they lost. See link for an alternate history story on this topic.

If the Germans had invaded Britain first before attacking the USSR, I am certain that Germany would have won the war.

Answer

I believe once the Nazi Germany invaded Poland and Great Britain & France declared war on Germany in 1939, its downfall was only matter of time. It was to be (eventually) Germany vs. Great Britain, France, United States, and USSR. Once GB/FR declared war, it was only matter of time that US would get involved. And both Hitler & Stalin knew Nazi Germany & USSR would eventually crash.

I consider it no less than a miracle that they were able to stay in the war for so long against so many enemies - perhaps a monumental feat in itself. A tribute to fine German military who over-achieved. Man for man & general for general, probably the finest unit in the world at the time.

I do not think Germany could have conquered Britain - with much weaker naval force, its only recourse was to achieve complete air dominance - the task which Luffwaffe failed. Though it might have been close, it probably was a long shot to begin with.

Yes. The if the USA hadn't entered the war, Hitler would've kept on invading the British until he succeeded. Then, he would've moved all of his forces to the Eastern front to invade the USSR. The Soviets had already lost about 5 million soldiers to the war, and with Japan invading them from the East, the Soviet Union (USSR) would've eventually buckled from the pressure on two fronts.

Germany's biggest mistake probably was in going to war with the Soviet Union without first finishing off the British. The Germans made their situation worse when six months after going to war with Russia, they declared war on the US. The US had declared war on Japan, and Japan only, after Pearl Harbor. Germany was not obligated under its alliance with Japan to declare war on the US, since Japan had attacked the US.

So, if Germany had first finished off the English, and forced them out of the war, before turning on Russia, that would have been a big help to them. Then the US would not have had a base on which to build up for an invasion of Europe. Had Hitler restrained himself and not declared war on the US, the US might not even have fought Germany.

When Germany turned on Russia, they invaded on a very broad front, with large army groups in the north, center, and south. The Germans should not have waited until late June to attack the Soviet Union, to allow themselves time to finish off Russia before the brutal Russian winter set in. And they should have put most of their effort into the center, to be assured of taking Moscow and lopping off the political head of Russia, after which the collapse of resistance for lack of coordination would almost assuredly have followed.

That would have left the US with the prospect of fighting the Germans without its two best allies, the British and the Russians, if the Americans did get into a war with Germany. The Americans might still have won, eventually. But it would have taken many more years, and much more effort, treasure and bloodshed.

A war game was "played" by many of the commanders from both sides right up to the very highest level in some cases. Despite the undoubted capability the Germans were unable to land. The starting situation was exactly as it would have with the Luftwaffe raiding Southern England.

Of course, Germany could won ww2 easy.

Their is many ways that the German Army, Waffen SS and the Nazi Party could of done to won World War 2.

Most people would say if Germany didn't invade the USSR in 1941, German could of won ww2 easy. That claim isn't true because their's records of Joseph Starlin and other political and Generals who demanded a huge production after the Nazi-Soviet pact was signed in 1939. Also, another fact that the Soviet was buying time and even by 1941, they wasn't ready to INVADE germany for another 4-5 years.

A Major Key thing Germany could of done was stop killing Jews, forced them to be in the army, tell them to go into battle and fight for their lives, so that German Army would loose less men. The jews would of been a distraction for the allies, Germany could of sent their Infantry and Armed Tank divisions and strike from the side. this would of surprised the allies and this would give germany atleast 10 minutes to do as much damage they can before allies stopped having a pussy fit about the surpise.

Related to the Battles during ww2, especially in the Eastern Front. Germany could of let women to join the army because, it's a guaranteed if a women german soldier got spotted by an ally troop, they would of though she would of been used as a hostage and like with the jews, the German could ambush them. Also a main thing germany could do is expand their tank divisions from 250 tanks to atleast 350 and give it an air support unit which are armed with bombs.

In basically with the German tactics/stratagies such as the Blitzkrieg tactic. German could of thought another tactic which was to hide the tanks out of side, this tactic would of been called "Out Of Site, Out Of Mind" this could of been equal or eithen as better as the Blitzkreig tactic. A Down side of the German Blitzkrieg stratagy was that eithen though each Blitz attack, they would of killed a lot of tanks an infantry but also, they would loose a lot.

In as of preventing on results such as the lost at Stalingrad, Germany could of provide worth clothing and food from Air Support. also, as soon Germany was in deep trouble, they could of retreat and go around and strike backwards, this to would surprise the allies and give them time to recovery.

Moving onto the Western Front, A Major thing Germany could of done during 1941 that could and would of destroyed GB was when they sent their 2 bismarks to the atlantic, if they didn't have to arrive to Norway the refull, they could of sneaked pass Britain which they have succedded before, they could of destroyed the entire british navy because a German Bismark is cappible of destroying a load of british naval ships.

Also, a another key thing germany could of done is to not sell their tanks to allied countries like GB,USA and USSR. because, an example with the USSR, as soon they got their hands onto a Panzer VI they were able to build better tanks in a years time to counter then German tank division

Nazi Germany made two large mistakes that caused it to fall to Allied forces of mainly the US, UK, USSR and French partisans. The first error was when Hitler invaded the USSR. If the invasion had not been behind schedule for six weeks, they might have caused Stalin to surrender. However, by invading the USSR, an Eastern front was created with the USSR. Stalin saw no need in 1939-1940 to invade Germany.

The second huge error that Imperial Japan and Hitler made was to have the US enter WW ll. After Pearl Harbor, the US had no choice but to fight Japan. With that said, Hitler did not have to declare war on the US. Whatever agreements Hitler had with Prime Minister Tojo of Japan, he could easily have done nothing. This is especially true in light of the so-called pact Stalin had with Japan. Why the Western allies agreed to partner with Stalin and not demand that he had to declare war on Japan seems to be not logical.

Japan could challenge the USSR on the eastern Asia Pacific coastline, however Japan was not a threat to invade any significant areas of the USSR.

The Hitler declared war on the US is also strange in that he regarded the Japanese to be inferior to the Aryan race.

If Germany could have simply controlled Western Europe, he had no worries about the USSR or the US.

Summarizing, Hitler could have won WW ll, if he did not expand the war in 1941 to include the US and the USSR.
