The tranny pan is located at the front right of your car. You will have to drain all the oil from the pan. You do that by jacking up the car in the front then unscrewing the rear bolts in the pan until you are able to drain all the fluid from the pan (you might have to unscrew other bolts to make this possible). Here is where you will make a decision. To do it right or make a quick maybe time consuming mistake. You can after draining the oil and cleaning the area put some instant gasket on the area that was leaking and hope it don't leak again or you can do the job right, and repalce old gasket with a new one. It will cost less than $20.00 and is well worth the problem of doing this again some time in the near future. If you want to fix it correctly remove all of bolts from the pan, scrape the gasket peices off the pan and the block, wipe clean the inside of tranny pan and remove the magnet and clean that also (make sure you put it back in the same place you got it from, around the little bump. Get some gasket sealant or something to hold the new gasket in place while you hold the pan and put back the screws. Snug tighten them first then basically tighten with low tork. Not like you would do with lug nuts, but slightly tighter than by hand. Replace with appropriate tranny fluid (add 1 quart of lucas to make fluid more slicker, helps keep oil on metal parts)and check levels with car running. I hope this was helpful to you. Good luck! Remove transmission and replace front seal.
The rear, or tail shaft, of a transmission has a seal around the output shaft. The drive shaft will have to be removed and the seal replaced.
Replace the seal.
Replace the seal.
depends where around the tranny the leak is
I wouldn't. Replace or repair the line instead.
The rear seal is bad. This is easy to fix. Seal is less than $20.00. Labor is under 1 hour.
To fix a standard transmission leak on a 1993 Ford F250, simply take it to a mechanic.
no
THE REAR MAIN SEAL HAS GONE BAD. THE PART COST UNDER $5.00 BUT TO HAVE IT DONE IS OVER $200.00
well.. u can seal it with m-seal or any other adhesive to fix the problem!! as simple as that!!
The Windstar transmission could have a seal that leaks worse as the transmission gets hot and the fluid is under pressure. Go to a car wash and clean the transmission good. Watch for several days to see where the fluid is leaking from so that you can find and fix the leak.
