ok ive joined the ranks of people who have broken spark plugs in their engines(not my fault carbon builds up on the threads a lil anti-sieze on them before install make them come out alot easier) mine broke in half leaving the threads in the block first what you want to do is get some pb blaster found at any retail store squirt and let sit for a few min. then get a #5 screw extractor i got mine from lowes because i like kobalt it is square so i took a six inch extension put it on backwards then found a socket that fits snug on my ratchet a quick turn with a breaker bar and pop it came out no prob the new plug went in fine now i need to get the broken plug off the extractor a vise some heat and a lil muscle should do it. it took me all day to figure it out so i hope you looked this up first because alot of the stuff out there didnt help me

You will have to take the 2001 Chevy Malibu to a mechanic to have stripped and broken plugs removed. It needs a special tool to get the broken ones out.
can use a threaded rod that matches old bolt threads, that it can reach the bottom where the threads aren't pulled out, if there is none then you need to use a HELI-COIL or thread repair incerts, most automotive supply house carry them, just need a drill an bit the size for incert to do the repair

If the Cavalier bleeder can not be removed with pliers, try a screw removal tool. The tool has angled threads. Slide it into the broken bleeder then turn it, the threads will grab the bleeder and should back it out for replacement.
