THERE IS ASPECIAL TOOL THAT COST ABOUT $7.00 OR YOU CAN USE TWO VERY SHARP FLAT SCREWDRIVERS INSERT THEM ON BOTH SIDES OF THE LINE AND PRY INWARD THEN REMOVE THE LINE BUT WITH THE RIGHT TOOL IT IS VERY EASY GO TO THE DEALER ASK FOR THE TOOL OR YOU CANCAN BUY FROM AUTO PART BUT TOO MANY PEOPLE AT THE AUTOPARTS STORE KNOW ABOUT THIS SPECIAL KIND OF SLAVE CYLINDER GOOD LUCK
The hydraulic clutch slave cylinder is located on the mainshaft of the trans. You must remove the trans to get to it
push in line pull back teflon sleeve evenly then pull back
If the line is connected directly, without a banjo, or flare fitting, then you will have to loosen the line, unbolt the slave cylinder, and twist the slave cylinder to unscrew the line.
If it is a drum brake system, then you will have to remove the wheel ,drum, brake shoes, and hydraulic brake line , then remove and replace the cylinder with a new one re-assemble and bleed the hydraulic brake system
To change wheel cylinder on a 2000 Chevy Malibu, jack up the vehicle and remove the tires, brake drums and brake shoes. Spray the hydraulic line and fitting with CRC 5-56 and loosen hydraulic fitting. Remove the two mounting bolts and remove the wheel cylinder. Replace with new.
Remove the exaust pipes. Remove the transmission. It is located inside the bell housing section of the transmission.
pull the cotter pin out with with a pair of pliers and and remove the the little metal sleeve the cotter pin was in. you can use a small nail to achieve this. slide the hydraulic line straight out.
5-SPD: To remove the clutch you first have to disconnect the hydraulic line that feeds the slave cylinder the hydraulic fluid. for that a special tool is required to push and pulll on the fitting. the tool costs about $10 ive used a bbq fork before its up to you. Once that is done, you remove drivelines, unplug all electrical connectors, remove the shifter from the top of transmission, put a jack under transmission, remove crossmember, unbolt the bellhousing from engine and pull out the transmission. 4SPD: To remove the hydraulic slave cylinder you do not need to remove the transmission, it is sitting on the outside of the transmission on the driver side of it. to replace the slave you simply disconnect it and unbolt it.
on the side of the trans where the slave cylinder goes into the bell housing, there is a gold fitting attaching the hyd. line to the slave. on that gold fitting there is a white plastic band that needs to be pushed down towards the slave cylinder. push it in far enough and the line will pull free.
the easiest thing to do is remove the slave cylinder then pump the pedal and the fluid will pour out
Remove and plug brake hydraulic lines Remove electrical sensor Remove mounting bolts Pull Master cylinder off activating rod BE SURE TO BENCH BLEED NEW MASTER CYLINDER PROR TO INSTALLATION Install in reverse order
To disconnect the clutch fluid hydraulic line from the master, drive out the roll pin holding the hydraulic tube to the master cylinder with a 7/64" punch. Have rags ready, as some fluid will be lost as line is removed.
