For a low carbohydrate diet the usual range is 20 to 50 grams daily. The best way is to experiment within that range and discover what amount works well for you as an individual.

Unlike protein and fats, there is no minimum daily requirement of carbohydrate for health.

However, they do have many beneficial phytochemicals and fiber so eating some carbohydrate is fine if it is not refined (processed). The best natural sources are (preferably organic) fresh non-starchy vegetables and fresh low carbohydrate fruits such as berries.

Avoid or strictly limit refined processed carbohydrates. they are major cause of weight gain, insulin resistance, obesity, Syndrome X Heart disease, hypertension, and many other diet related diseases.
