I had the same problem with my 1996 tahoe, the best way I have found is to get a can of PB BLASTER penetrating oil. Then spray the lock mechanism on the door and let it sit. Then try working the lock from both the manual lock and the remote. If that does not work, you may have to remove the door panel and lubricate the lock linkage from the inside of the door. BE Careful removing the trim piece on the door handle, it will break easily. It's a good idea to spray all of the locks and mechanisms on a regular basis to keep them from sticking. ANSWER You could have a weak door lock solenoid that is not fully moving the unlocking mechanism.
I don't want to sound simplistic, but you need to press the unlock button TWICE in quick succession. Just pressing it once unlocks the driver's door, the second press unlocks the other doors. Hope that helps...
Follow in order: -remove key from steering column -close all doors -open driver door -insert key in steering lock -repeat the following 3 times in 24 secs: -turn key to on then back to lock -push driver side door switch 3 times -check that door lock and unlocks-if not wait 40 secs -if lock and unlock-push any button twice -check that door locks and unlocks-if not push driver side door switch -if lock and unlock-push any button twice -check that door locks and unlocks-if not push driver side door switch -if lock and unlock-push any button twice -check that door locks and unlocks-if not push driver switch -if lock and unlock-the end. -remote should work after this.
Manually you can unlock the door using the inside lock (above the handle). Toggle it so the 'red' portion shows and the door is unlocked. With the remote, press the (unlock) button twice. The first press unlocks the driver side door, second press unlocks the passenger side. There's yet another option. You can set the door locks so both the driver and passenger doors unlock when you put the transmission in park (and lock when you put it in gear). You'll find that information on page 22 of your owners manual. Actually, you'll also find the other 'how to lock/unlock' info in the owners manual too. Cheers
Hit the unlock button two times quickly. This will unlock the driver's door and then the passenger door. Sometimes I need to hit the button three times.
ubderneath the dash of the driver and passenger side. it has two switches one on each side
Typically, when you turn the key once in the driver's door, it unlocks the driver's door. If you turn the key twice, it unlocks all the doors.
on the bottom of the steering column there is a small rectangular plastic plug that pops out (small flat screw driver works good) pop this cover off and there is a button inside. hold that button in and it unlocks the ignition allowing you to get your key out. (the button pushes in toward the cab of the car) hope this helps
for the driver - there will no coverage. For the passenger the same as well. It is your responsibility as a passenger, to be sure that the vehicle you are driving in is INSURED, always.
Yes. If the passenger is hurt in an accident caused by the driver, the passenger is fully entitled to sue the driver. In fact even if the passenger is a spouse of the driver, the passenger can sue.
The button on the driver's door that disables all windows except the driver's window. Push that button and all power will be restored to all windows. If not, that button may be defective. The button on the driver's door that disables all windows except the driver's window. Push that button and all power will be restored to all windows. unfortunately on the 2004 model you have to hit the unlock button on the driver side and then the sliding door button on the upper middle console.. If at first it does not open continue to do so. Make sure you turn the car off first for a couple of minutes than proceed to do this.. This routine however crazy it sounds always unlocks the lock whenever it is jammed for me.. good luck... No Sir that did not work so im removing door panel to check rod. how do i remove inside handle and lock
Driver's side became standard in 1990, driver/passenger became standard in 1994.
