Yes
Did you screw up the cam timing while replacing the water pump? Did you try manipulating th throttle control (gas pedal) when trying initial engine start after major repair? Did you forget do plug something important back in?
It is more difficult than said.....The tire must be removes athe alternater and Powers stearing belts remove..front mother mount plate...then set the timing marks..and remove Pully...When replacing a timing belt..I would strongly suggest replacing the water pump..since it is drivin on this belt...it would be a shameto get all the way back together...and Have you'r water pump brake soon after....It is the same amount of work to replace this Pumpa as it is the Timming belt.
sounds like an electrical problem, try replacing the cam position sensorand check the coils
Easy one.Warm engine to full operating temperature.Loosen, slightly 4 bolts from water pump pulley (smooth at the top, towards the fron of the car).Remove serpentine belt.Remove 4 pulley bolts.Drain radiator.Remove 5 water pump bolts and thoroughly clean any old gasket.Reverse procedure to install.
Simple answer is yes. The water pump is driven by the timing belt. P.S if you are not sure on how to do this job then pay a reputable workshop. You can bend cylinder head valves if you replace the timing belt incorrectly and then you are talking thousands to repair your car! Steve:-)
do not have a clue!!!!good luck though. i need the same answer only for a 1999 metro:(
Remove the belt from your 1999 Chevy Metro water pump. Remove the water pump return hose. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to replace the water pump.
I am tring to remove and install a water pump on a Chevy metro 2001 lsi.I would like some advice on how to remove and install a water pump.Thanks.
77.25 mg/l as CaCO3 according to Johannesburg Metro Water Quality Report as of 27th February 2009
This is just what i think but i am not sure i think it is because where Metro beach is is at a point on Earth where the moons gravitational pull does not effect the sea at that part of the world.
ENGLISH
5 quarts of 50/50 (antifreeze/distilled water)
it goes on the crank water pump and alternator
Some people like to and some people only do it if there is a stain out of the seep hole on the pump.
A water pump does not need "oil" or oiling. If it is making noise then it needs replacement because the bearings are probably failing. If you are replacing coolant, but don't see where it is going, then could be that it is leaking slightly at the wheep hole just below the pulley.
That depends on whether you're lining up 2 timing belt pulleys to the timing marks or lining up water pump/alternator/crankcase pulleys Mr Geo Metro leehduncan@verizon.net
Cam timing incorrect.
