∙ 6y agoIf you are asking how many states are in the United States, then yes there are 50. But if you are asking whether they are all linked or contiguous, that was true until 1959, when Alaska and Hawaii became states. These two, which were previously US territories, are not attached or linked to the other states. So there are 48 states which are in some way contiguous, and then there are Alaska and Hawaii which are now states, but are not contiguous to the other states in the USA.
