Jews first fought for Palestine in the Biblical Period (around 1000 BCE). Muslims first fought for Palestine in 634 CE.

If the question means to ask when they first fought each other for Palestine, there were pogroms and violent outbursts between Jews of the Yishuv and Settled Arabs of Palestine as early as the later 1920s.

Answer 1 - Islamic Perspective

Since Mohammed pbah established his version of a new polyglot form of Judeo-Christianity which became Islam or complete submission to god, one god no others, at the time most officials were Jewish and his relative rejection of it, has been exploited the same way Christians claim the Jews killed their Christ, thus justifying abuse. The Romans were the ones who killed Christ and Jesus was denied clemency for his alleged blasphemy,

Complicated, isn't it. But unnecessary for peaceful co-existence.

Answer 2 - Islamic Religious Perspective

From a Muslim point of view and understanding, that Abraham, Isaac, Israel, Moses, and Jesus, and the Prophets of the God are Muslims.

The Majority of the Jews Denied and fought the commands of the creator, Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, Solomon, and hundreds of other prophets of the God.

The Followers of Mohammed(Gods prayer and peace up on him) are the latest Muslims who fought the Jews. The followers of Mohammed started fighting with the Jews because the Jews stood with the idols worshipers against the messenger Mohammed, his Message, his God,(the creator of the earth and heavens) and his followers. The Jews tried to Kill the Messenger Mohammed and his follower as they tried to kill Jesus and his followers before. Until this present moment the Jews are fighting the Muslims, Mohammed, Allah, the religion of Islam fiercely, and they are denying the message of Islam, or the message of the Creator of the earth and heavens. So, Muslims have been fighting Jews for long time. The war will not end until the Jews accept that Jesus is the Messiah( the Christ) and Mohammed is the messenger of the one God, or the Jews has to end their animosity towards Jesus, Mohammed, Allah (the God), the believers in them, and the religion of Islam. The war between the present Muslims and the Jews has been since the time of the messenger Mohammed (peace up on him).

Fighting between Arabs and Jews is mainly about territory. Until 1948 the holy land, Palestine, was a British mandated territory. In 1939, Britain was moving towards a position of granting independence and a white Paper recommended that an Arab state of Palestine be created.
The British Balfour Declaration of 1917 had regarded Palestine as a homeland for the Jews, subject to the rights of the Arabs, and the Jews had been hopeful of a separate state in at least part of the Palestinian mandate. In order to force Britain's hand, the Jews commenced a program of terrorism, with the Stern Gang as the main participant. In 1946, the British headquarters in the King David Hotel were blown up. By February 1947, the number of British casualties in Palestine has risen sharply and Britain called on the UN to solve the Palestinian problem. The Jews were well organised and well armed, and fighting quickly escaltated into war. Between May 1948 and January 1949, 370 Palestinian villages were wiped out just in the coastal strip between Tel-Aviv and Haifa. In many cases, if the villagers refused to leave, they were put onto trucks and driven away to the West Bank.

So, Arabs (both Muslim and Christian) and Jews have been fighting since the 1940s.
Some publications that may provide more information include:
A history of modern Palestine: One Land, Two Peoples (2004) by Professor Ilan Pappe (University of Haifa, Israel);
The History of Israel (1998) by Professor Arnold Blumberg;
Bitter Harvest: A Modern History of Palestine (1989), by Sami Hadawi (official land valuer during the British Mandate)

It depends on how you term "fighting".

If you are referring to open conflict where Jews with guns and Muslims with guns ran around shooting each other, the beginnings of the conflict track immediately to 1919 and 1920, the first time that Jews were legally permitted to defend themselves against aggression from Muslims. The Battle of Tel Hai and the Nebi Musa Riots in 1920 are some of the first shots fired in this kind of war and both started from Arab Muslim aggression against Jews. It just happened that the new British authorities allowed the Jews to defend themselves, creating "conflict".

Of course, when you have a repressed population, such as the Jews were for centuries under Islamic Occupation, the first shots fired are not really the beginning of the fighting. Jews were treated as second-class citizens in the Ottoman Empire from the mid-1800s and prior to this were treated under a religious apartheid government. They were denied basic human rights, such as being able to choose their own clothing, being able to freely compete for various professions, being unable to defend themselves, having a lower legal position in court, and numerous other violations. This form of biting repression existed throughout the history of the Islamic Caliphates, including the much-glorified period of Umayyad Islamic control over Spain. If you properly consider the forced Jewish sublimation to a lower class status to Muslims as the start of the fighting, the conflict has existed from the days when Muhammad first asserted political power in 622 C.E.

I respectfully disagree with the analysis provided by my colleague, Expert Dirk Harfield, who argues that the conflict turns primarily on British political decisions and Jewish Nationalist aspirations in the late 1930s and 1940s. In this view, he fails to consider the views of Muslim leaders in the Middle East prior to any Jewish militancy against the British, such as those of Haj Amin al-Husseini who actively supported the Holocaust (by helping Hitler recruit Bosniaks for the SS and orchestrating the deaths of Jewish children by giving Nazis intelligence he received about their locations) or Rashid al-Ghaylani, who orchestrated the largest pogrom in history of the Arab World in Baghdad in 1941 (the Farhud) or Fawzi al-Qawuqji who collaborated with the Nazis during the Palestinian Civil War of 1936-1939. These individuals were key in leading the Arab forces in the Jewish-Arab Engagement of 1947-1949 and were responsible for the complete ethnic-cleansing of Jews in the territories they took over, most notably in the Old City of Jerusalem, which had had a Jewish population since the days of Saladin. They advocated not just an opposition to a Jewish State in the Middle East, but to the presence of Jews in any state in the Middle East.
