Hi there!
I am no specialist when it comes to English, and have never been to college, but I have read a bit on it and have heard different types of English, from the US to Europe, Africa, India, Australia, all have a different accents and all are understood. Which is correct? The English swear they speak the proper English but even they don't understand the English of some of their own countrymen. The international written English, I guess Media English, which is the one written on teleprompters for newscasters to read off, and the one in magazines that are read around the world is the most acceptable style. English, basically anything goes, depending on the situation, may that be spoken, read and/or written. I understand that English derives from German, French, Spanish. Latinate language combined with Anglo-Saxon. I guess anything goes. Hope I helped.
