Europe emerged from the Medieval period and the Renaissance began in places such as the Italian peninsula. The movement there enlightened the ruling kingdoms to the point that they began to look beyond their borders and develop their societies in a new way.

They also began to see that the Roman Catholic Church, dominated their religious lives and a new movement started by Luther in Germany gave birth to Protestantism.

During the 16th and 17th centuries, a series of religious wars dominated the political and economic trends of Europe. The wars, taken by themselves, were bloody affairs but for better or worse, contacts between kingdoms increased and alliances were made and alliances were broken.

Part of this process, was the development of military forces and new weapons. In order to create an advantage for themselves over European rivals, the need to trade and find better ways of making war, elevated the kingdoms above other parts of the globe.

From a disunited status of the Middle Ages, new nationalistic States began to form. If wealth could be obtained from other nations, it was pursued to the point of nation vs nation warfare.

In their searches for leverage over their European foes, wealthier and more intellectual nations began to see that material resources such as coal and iron ore, were beneficial to their populations and beneficial to producing weapons of war.

These nations also were aware of riches in minerals, gold and silver, that might be obtained overseas. Inroads from Europe were made in North Africa, which did not have organized governments to the extent that European kings possessed.

The far east had been opened to a limited extent by the expeditions of Marco Polo to China. They correctly perceived that the riches in the East could be turned into power & wealth in their European kingdoms. Faster ways of reaching the East were developed by exploring the possibilities of sailing west to "get" to the East faster and more safely than Marco Polo type land expeditions.

Bottom line here is from the Renaissance period forward, new sciences, new ways to travel, new forms of nationalism, new forms of warfare, created a competitive environment among the peoples of Europe.

No other region on Earth, had developed in this manner. Thus, upon exploration new lands and under developed peoples became places to obtain wealth & power.

Power stations do contribute to global warming, as the more electricity we use the more global warming will develop to the earth. And gradual the earth will be destroyed because of us humans.

Does hydro power contribute to global warming?

No, hydro power is renewable energy, which has no carbon dioxide emissions.

What statement about a country's territory is true?

Geographic factors contribute to its power.

Why should us be using nuclear power?

It produces no carbon dioxide and so does not contribute to global warming.

How does uranium make the power clean?

- Uranium don't contribute to global warming- Uranium don't release carbon dioxide

What if nuclear fuel was used instead of fossil fuel?

There would be no carbon emissions. Nuclear power does not contribute to global warming.

Does solar power contribute to global warming?

In fact, the opposite is true.By using solar power, as well as wind power and geothermal power, we can generate electricity without burning fossil fuels. The less we burn fossil fuels, the more we slow down the effects of global warming.

Does nuclear power hurt the environmont?

No, nuclear power maintains environment non pollution as it does emit green house gases and do not contribute to global warming and environment pollution.

What are the advantages of nuclear power plant?

they provide higher amount of power and electricity than normal power plants.

How do power stations cause global warming?

Power stations contribute to global warming if they use fossil fuels (coal, oil or natural gas) to generate their electricity. Burning fossil fuels is recognised as one of the two main causes of global warming (the other is deforestation). Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide, a powerful greenhouse gas which is accumulating in the atmosphere and causing global warming.

How does solar power contribute to global warming?

The use of solar power (photovoltaic panels [PV], solar hot water, Concentrated Solar Power [CSP]) does not contribute to global warming. The original heat from the sun, of course, is the source of global warming, because we are trapping more and more of its heat.It is the heat from the sun (solar power) that warms the earth. The earth then radiates heat back up into the atmosphere which warms the greenhouse gases. Because humans have put extra greenhouse gas up there (mostly carbon dioxide, but also some methane), this also warms up. This makes the planet warmer than it would normally be. This is global warming.
