Still have the "CHECK ENGINE" light on? You need to clear the codes and reset the controller. You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and reconnecting. The car should still start, even with a bad cam sensor, although it likely will not run very well. If sensor problems remain, the car may very well shut off when the engine controller changes from cold start to closed loop control (about 1-3 minutes). Is the new sensor plugged in correctly? Are there other diagnostic codes that need to be checked out? This is a complex issue that's difficult to diagnose over the web. May be time to tow it in to a dealer...
In order to replace the camshaft position sensor, you would need to disconnect the electrical plug holding it in. Using a socket, hold down the bolt and remove the camshaft position sensor.
