about 20psi at idle (warm) and 40 to 50psi at 2000rpm.
Running at operating temperature around 40 psi.
A full operating temperature it will be around 40 psi.
normal oil pressure is 48 to 60
It is on the front of the engine, just above the oil filter.
Normal oil pressure at idle would be about 30 psi. Minimum would be about 10.
No.
The oil gets thinner. It is normal for the oil pressure to drop after the engine has reached full operating temperature. If you have from 30-40 psi pressure when the engine is hot then that is normal.
The oil pressure sensor on the 3.6L engine is on the rear of the oil cooler, under the intake manifold.
Normal idle oil pressure would be around 30 psi. Minimum pressure should be about 10 psi.
Clogged filter, low oil, thin oil, worn out engine.
The normal oil pressure on a GM 305 engine is between 40 and 60 PSI depending on the model year. High oil pressure is needed to allow for proper circulation through the engine.
The oil pressure indicator is just that. It shows that oil PRESSURE inside the oil journals of the engine is up to the proper level. The oil is pressurized with a mechanical pump, and the oil is pumped through the engine. The pressure is necessary to keep bearings, hydraulic lifters and sometimes timing chain adjusters functioning properly. When the engine is not physically turning, there will be no oil pressure because the pump is not running, so it's perfectly normal and expected that there is no oil pressure when you first turn on the key. Or, in layman's terms, it means your "Oil" light is still working and your Jeep has enough oil in it.....
