This is difficult to answer without a picture but I'll give it a shot. This engine is mounted 'front to back' so all reference points will be like that. Left side is the drivers side and right side is the passengers side. Starting from the MIDDLE set of bolts: #1 RH #2 LH Move forward (toward front of car) 1 set of bolts: #3 RH #4 LH Move back (toward windshield) 2 sets of bolts: #5 RH #6 LH Bolts all the way to the front of head: #7 RH #8 LH Bolts all the way to the back of head: #9 RH #10 LH It would look like this: B 9 10 5 6 1 2 3 4 7 8 F The torque spec is 30ft.lbs + 115 degrees rotation. Hope this comes out o.k.
Torque for valve cover bolts is 7 to 10 ft. Lbs . Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern .
Incorrect torque pounds, or incorrect sequence of torque,improper gasket installation, foreign matter not allow gasket to properly seal or warped intake manifold or warped block
Remove the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and then remove the head. Scrap off the old gasket and install a new one. Reinstall the head and Torque the head bolts in the proper sequence. Reinstall the intake and exhaust manifold torque the bolts to the proper torque. This is a major repair and not for a novice to try.
For my Mercury Cougar with Aluminum Heads it is:Torque Sequence 1993 3.8 Cougar; Looking at Engine from front of car the lower bolts are 7 3 1 5 upper bolts are 8 4 2 6. Step 1; Torque in Sequence to 37 FT./ LBS Step 2;Torque in Seq. To 45 FT./LBS. Step 3; Torque in Seq. To 52 FT,/LBS. Step4; Torque in Seq. To 59 FT./LBS. Step 5; Back off all bolts in Torque Sequence 2-3 turns. Step 6; Retorque all Bolts in Sequence 11-18 FT/LBS. Step7; Rotate Long Bolts 85-105 Degrees, Short Bolts 65-85 Degrees in Sequence. in sequence torque bolts to 20nm, then again in sequence turn a futher 120 degrees, and again in sequence 120 degrees.

There is no torque sequence just torque rocker arm studs to the proper torque

most shop manuals have these specs in them. also, most head gasket manufacturers put the torque specs on the package. make sure you torque the bolts in the correct sequence also.
Your question is best answered with" purchase a manual"! Reason being, looking for help with torque numbers also requires sequence. Without the proper sequence, you will destroy, at the very least, the head gasket. an inexpensive manual can be found at all patrts stores.
