Marie Antoinette had been tutored by world class Academics in Science, History, Languages, Music and the Arts. Mary Ludwig was uneducated, a farm laborer who signed her name with an "X".

Marie Antoinette was of Noble Birth, well accustomed to wealth and privilege and Mary Ludwig came from the working poor.

Both ladies were mothers.

Molly Pitcher died at the age of 87. Marie Antoinette was beheaded at 37.

Mary Ludwig was said to have cursed like a common soldier. Marie Antoinette was a lady of culture who apologized to her executioner when she accidentally stepped on his foot.

An American born citizen of German parents, Mary Ludwig was honored and loved by the soldiers of the American Revolution for the service she rendered in support of the cause. Marie Antoinette was hated with a passion simply because was an Austrian by birth, was wrongfully considered a spendthrift and the followers of the French Revolution sent her to the guillotine.
