Hey Colma==It is a fan clutch not vice versa. It is between the water pump and the fan. Simply get a new one and it eill be easier as to how you will go about thking the assenbly off of the water pump then separating the fan and clutch. GoodluckJoe

AnswerTo remove the clutch fan, undo the bolts that hold it on. Then take a puller and pull it of the shaft. Then you can get at the water pump. Also remember that the fan shroud has to come out first. A fan clutch wrench set would help you.
In some Nissan Pickups of that year, the fan clutch is actually integrated with the water pump as an assembly. Therefore, the fan clutch cannot be separated from the water pump. There are six bolts holding the water pump to the engine block; remove those bolts and the water pump/fan clutch assembly should come out as a unit.
fan clutch screws off water pump fan pump has left hand thread so to remove you need to turn clockwise
Take belt off water pump pulley remove fan from pump (4 bolts) remove old clutch from fan install new with same bolts Put fan back on.
Look at the water pump and see if a fan is attached to it. If so it has a fan clutch. If nothing connects the fan to the water pump then it is a electric fan. Some do, some don't. It depends on what options the Jeep was built with.
