I just replaced mine. A real pain because its hard to get to. its on the drivers side toward the back and down low. Look back toward the wind sheild, back side of the engine and down low. you will see the 2 wire plug. Hope that helps.

1st o2 senor is between exhaust. 2nd o2 sensor is under shifter
In answer to your question the coolant temperature sensor on a 2000 Pontiac grand am with a 3.4L engine, is located on the rear of the engine above the flywheel. It is located just behind the what I believe is the alternator.
Look under and just to the left of the thermostat. JK
It is in the bottom of the over flow tank.

It is at the bottom front of the coolant reservoir.
The Engine coolant temperature sensor is installed in a coolant passage which is located at the front left cornerof the cylinder head.

The coolant fan sensor is the same as the sensor that shows the coolant temperature on the dash gauge. It is located on the intake manifold.
