Where is the fuel pump relay on 92 Honda Prelude located at?
Left side of the stearing column. Behind a mess of wires. put your head on the clutch and look up with a flashlight, it's the little brown and black box.
It should be under the dash and takes 5 mins to swap out, matushita RZ-XXXX it is called the "main relay" which does both the fuel pump and ignition. Assuming this is fuel injected. Just replaced mine in my 86 Si and it fixed problems with the pump not coming on all the time when starting. $70 from the dealer.
Could anyone give a more precise location on where the fuel pump relay is one a 1989 Honda prelude 2.0 si under the dash on the left side is kinda general perhaps a picture of what it looks like?
behind the main fuse panel under left side of steering wheel. there are two black boxes(relays) that plug in. the fuel pump cut-off relay will be the one that has three prongs sticking out of it once removed. looking at it yoo will see holes on top of it. many people mistake it for a chime relay. you may have to remove the other relay also to get the fuel relay out.
The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank. Just a side note, if the vehicle appears to be experiencing a fuel pump problem (hesitation, hard starting - especially in hot weather) - another possible problem is the fuel pump ("main") relay. This relay is a common problem, which if bad, will produce symptoms that mimic a bad fuel pump. The relay is located under the dashboard on the driver's side.
