Water pump is located behind the timing belt cover and is driven by the timing belt. The thermostat is located on the bottom of the engine. Remove the two 10mm bolts from the plastic housing that the lower rad hose is connected to.
The fuel temperature sensor is located inside of the tank in the Subaru Impreza. This is the case for the cars that were made in the 1990's, at least.
Thermostat is located in the aluminum housing attached to the water pump. You can easily find it by following the lower radiator hose out of the radiator and going into this housing. There are two bolts that secure the housing to the water pump that once removed will reveal the thermostat. Make sure that you orient the thermostat with the little jiggly thing at the top and use a new rubber gasket around the perimeter of the new thermostat.

ok 1990-1994 subaru legacy engines are basically the same the water pump on mine 1991 is located on the thermostat housing on the bottom of the engine on the lower tube off the radiator so find your lower radiator hose follow it is should go to the thermostat and the water pump is on that

if you follow the lower radiator hose toward the engine, the thermostat housing is located at the end closest to the motor. I would HIGHLY recomend having a reputable shop change it, the bolts VERy commonly break in subarus, than you have to replace the whole water pump, which also includes a timing job.
Crawl under your car on the front drivers side. Follow the lower radiator hose from the radiator to the motor. The thing that the hose is clamped to is the thermostat housing. The thermostat housing bolts to the bottom of the water pump. The water pump is driven by the timing belt.

Drain the water from the cooling system. Remove the water hose from the thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Remove the thermostat. Reverse the process to install the new thermostat.
