Many places. Potatoes are a native plant of North and South America and weren't introduced to Europe until the late 1500's. The one place that refused to grow potatoes in large amounts was France and that may have lead to the French Revolution because the wheat crop failed and people were hungry. If they had grown potatoes that may have not happened. Today they are grown all over the world.
