Many people are influenced by the media into believing that all Muslims mean harm, and want to upset the peace. However Islam itself is a very peaceful religion that preaches love and respect for all. The small group of extremists that ruin this are pasted all over the headlines. The media implies that all Muslims follow suit, that they all act in the same destructive manner. Thankfully this is not true.

Many Muslims, the ones that follow the true teaching of Islam are pure of heart and abide by the law of their country, at the same time respecting their own Islamic teachings.

So to answer your question no, not all Muslims are bad just as not all Christians or Jews are bad. A stigma is attached to name of Islam which upsets people, almost frightens them.

One of the many short comings which has arisen in the West, is judging Islam by the conduct of a minority of its people. By doing this, segments of Western society have deliberately played off the desperate actions of many Muslims, and have given it the name of Islam. Such behaviour is clearly not objective and seeks to distort the reality of Islam. For if such a thing was done Judge a religion by the conduct of its people) then we too could say that all Christianity is about is child molesting and homosexuality By using the many cases of child abuse and homosexuality by priests, such a generalization about Christianity could be made as easily.

The right picture of lslam is conveyed in the Qur'an, which is exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The reality is that it is not fair to judge a religion by the actions of its followers alone because there are good and bad followers in every religion. The correct thing to do is to judge a religion by its documented revelation from God and the prophet who brought that revelation.

Christians and other religions can learn about Islam from Muslim sources and the basis of the Muslim belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach. Everyone should seek out information on the world about others beliefs

well, in my point of view, not all Muslims are bad, it is not the people that are bad, their god (allah) is supposedly our god, the christian god, or i could maybe be wrong, but the Muslim religion is a very very very very very dangerous one, it poisons your mind, when ever you go into one of the middle eastern countries, you MUST abide by their rules, where as, what I find unfair is that, whenever a Muslim immigrant or migrant comes over to one of the countries, such as the u.s.a, u.k, aus, and some parts of Europe, they are free to build mosques, wear the burqa, and sing their incredibly annoying chants that they do early in the morning, so i don't think all Muslims are bad, it's just the other way of life they have, it's the religion that is dodgy, (allah is supreme)

No. Most Muslims are quite decent human beings, who work hard to raise families that they love and cherish. The issue primarily comes from the way that Islam is still practiced in this day and age and how Muslims themselves are uncritical of the practices of their religion. Muslim leaders, even in Western countries, tend not to espouse Western values, such as seeking increased police protection for possible honor killing victims, seeking prohibition of female genital mutilation, and condoning the creation of "Shari'a Police" to enforce Islamic norms. The passivity of the majority of the Islamic community in regards to these actions is problematic, but does not make the people bad, only inactive. By contrast, in personal relationships, you will often find that Muslims are quite reasonable, funny, and "normal" people.

No. Muslims are simply followers of Islam, they are just people, who are trying to find the right way of life by staying away from sins and praying to God for guidance to be better people. Like every human being they also commit sins at times and do good deeds. However, they were told to care for this world and others, so the Muslims who mistreat others are the wrongdoers and don't have the decency to be called Muslims.

During 9/11, those people used the name of being a Muslim as an excuse to do such a act, however they are sinners and walked out of Islam, so they are not Muslims at all... These religious records written by the earliest muslim leaders who were themselves ardent followers of muhammad, are called hadeeths/hadiths.

Bearing in mind that Muhammad himself is the personification of the religion that he started, it is therefore not surprising that many zealous muslims will endeavor to follow the practices recorded in these books.

The good news is, not all muslims agree to these writings. Some muslims choose to only rely on the main religious text, called the Qur'an. Unfortunately, the Qur'an reveals very little about the dealings of the person of muhammad and is itself non-contextual. As a result, there is frequently little option left but to refer to some of these hadeeths for backdrops to some of the Qur'anic teachings.

Which inevitably results in many areas of grey interpretations. When one refers heavily on the hadeeths, one may un-knowingly pick up some of the recorded practices which are criminal by today's standards. A simple reference to any on-line library of hadeeths will reveal this.

Some however, choose only to rely on the Qur'an and avoid the hadeeths altogether. These are called Qur'anists.

But whether or not a muslim becomes a moderate or fundamentalist muslim depends largely on the interpretation given to him/her by their religious teachers because the Qur'an is not only non-contextual it is also only to be interpreted by an Arabic speaking teacher. Who, if he relies on these recorded biographies of Muhammad in the hadeeths will lead those who follow him straight into religious terrorism.

It is very amazing to ask are Muslims evil. Could one ask are Christians evil despite the WW1 and WW2 and the invasions/massacres of Vietnam. Iraq, and many other countries. All God religions (including Islam) call for peace, forgiveness, tolerance, and cooperation for benefit of mankind. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) never called for violence or terrorism. He called for good conduct and good morals. Quran called for good morals. Terrorism is never related to Islam. However, biased media propagates false ideas about Islam for mainly two reasons: first to resist the increasing trend of people converting to Islam. second to justify their campaigns to get control on Muslim majority countries to control their resources. You may notice that any terrorist action done by Muslims it is referred to as Muslim terrorism. however, if any terrorist action done by a Christians or Jews, it is referred to by their nationalities and never by their religions. Muslims believe that there are 3 religions Jews Christians and Muslim you are not truley Muslim until you believe in God his angels The Bible the testament and Moses Jesus Mohamed and every other prophet since Adam.

We believe that Moses came with the Testament, Jesus with the Bible and Mohamed with Qu 'ran. Jews cannot drink alcohol or eat pork or animal fat or meat and cheese or Gamble Christians can do all that Islam is in between we don't drink alcohol or eat pork nor Gamble we can eat animal Fat and meat with cheese (Cheeseburger). There are Muslims who do bad things, and there are Muslims who do good things. The same can be said for any religion. Not all Muslims are "evil". In fact, most people of any religious community are not bad people. So please, when you meet a person, be they male, female, black, white, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, etc., judge them on the basis of their conduct and character only.

There are fanatics among Muslims killing innocent Hindus, Jews and Christians, but among Christians also, there are terrorists like the members of the Ku Klux Klan and neo-nazis who give a Biblical basis to their theories of racial superiority, and even Catholic fundamentalists who have been responsible for bombings in night clubs, abortion clinics and even the 1996 Olympic Games. The Portuguese in India forcibly converted thousands of Hindus to Christianity. Likewise, even among Hindus, people of different castes clash with one another, killing innocent people. Such terrorist groups include the Ranvir Sena and Sunlight Sena. Some violent Hindu communalists have also been responsible for killing innocent Christians.

You cannot stigmatise Islam or all Muslims for what some Muslims do. Please read about the teachings of Islam from neutral, unbiased sources, and do not just go through anti-Islamic hate sites, that present Quranic verses and hadiths out of context. There are verses in scriptures of all religions, that have been misinterpreted when taken out of context. Also, you may like to read about the tolerant, accomodating Sufi philosophy followed by some Muslims.

I would recommend you to read books by Karen Armstrong, a notred scholar of theology.

Their religion was the religion of the terrorists who attacked New York on September 11th, 2001, and they are a strong, evil opponent of Israel, America's strongest ally.
