The lvl select door is vacuum operated. I'm not sure where the vacuum block is located on this year, but if u look in a manual it will help.
You should see the vacuum lines under the hood on the firewall. There is a black housing that they connect into. Replacing that housing should fix the problem unless you have a cracked Vacuum line. You can get a cheapy T shaped line at most parts stores.
How easy is it to replace head gasket on 1994 firebird lt1 motor
There are heater doors on the heat blower box that direct the path of the heat. Apparently the heater door to the floor vents is stuck closed.
the middle vents only supply air from the ac unit using a separate in dash fan. the floor and defrost vents come only from the heater
Warm(er) air rises - if vents were high up there would be little circulation without fans.
Most likely a bad or disconnected vacuum hose to the defrost/floor selector in the heater ducting.
under the hood. on the passenger side. near the silver air conditioning can looking thing. you will see a black thing with 3 vacuum lines attached. this is what controls the heater vents.
Could be that your heater core is leaking May also have a plugged evaporator hole.
It is more then likely your heater core. is it fogging up in your vehicle?
The a/c - heater controller is out...........
It should blow through the floor vents. Modern vehicles generally use movable baffles in there HVAC systems, to direct air flow where the controls indicate. If the controls allow airflow to the floor, but nothing flows out, there is a malfunction between the control switch and the actuator that directs the flow.
Check the following.......... 1. Vacuum leak, broken vacuum line or disconnected vacuum line. 2. A/C - heater inside car door operation.. 3. A/C - heater controller..
It means you have a leaky heater core. You may also find the front passenger floor wet with engine coolant.
