If you've got a voltmeter, i'd first make sure the motor is getting power when the switch is activated. Then i'd make sure the ground wire circuit isn't broken. But any way you look at it, you should isolate the problem to the motor before just replacing it. Best of luck.
i would check if you have power to the motor from the switch
It might be tine for some new wipers on the car. You might also need to check the connection of it to see if that part needs to be replaced.
Generally, if the motor is working on windshield wipers, the problem is electrical. Check the fuses and the wiring to see if something needs replaced.
Windshield wipers don't work
More than likely the problem is the transmission that needs to be replaced
check the ground wires on each side of the rad. if there is a poor ground it will cause all kinds of electrical problems, like the wipers turning on,lights not working, transmission not engaging to name a few.
The motor may have quit working .
The parking mechanism isn't working and the magnet probably needs replaced. Take it to a garage as it has to be soldered in.

The time is takes for windshield wipers to wear out depends on the quality of them. Some may last anywhere from 5 to 10 years, some may last less than that. They should be replaced when they stop working.
