Congratulations to you both! There are no tests for pre/post natal care, but lots of articles on the subject or groups you could join that will guide you through things as to what to expect during labor and after the baby is born. There are many books on the subject and many groups where you and your husband can attend as far as helping with labour (even though he may not be there when your child is born.) Just have fun talking about the baby and looking at some magazine articles or pre/post natal care books. Have fun picking names and just let him feel the baby move inside of you. That's a miracle in itself. www.rhodeisland.babyzone.com The above is a good article and should give you much of what you need or you can go onto www.Google.com This will give you many sites on the subject to pick through. It would be wise of you if possible to either have a family member or a trusted friend to also learn pre/post natal care (apart from your husband) so they can be there to help you. The hardest part is having the baby and knowing what to do at times and no matter how many courses you take most first-time mothers are a little nervous. If your mother or his mother aren't close by pick a good friend to see you through this and one that has children of their own if possible. The main thing is you need support for yourself. Before your husband leaves for Iraq buy him a mini tape recorder. As the baby is growing up (even when very small) you can tape some of the sounds from the baby and also talk to your husband. He'll be able to hear both your voices and that helps a lot. Letters are wonderful, but hearing you wife's voice and your first born baby's voice is so much better. During WWII many wives would go into record shops and record messages to their husband and if lucky would get a video tape through to where he was. Give your husband a big hug for me too and I'm proud of him as I'm sure you are. Good luck & God Bless Marcy

If a woman gets pregnant and conceives a child that is not her husbands is her husband the legal father anyway?

The biological father is the legal father. The husband is not the father unless he decides he wants to claim that title and wants to raise this child. Slim to none on that one. More likely you are going to be a single parent, so go after the bio dad for child support. He owes his child that.

Should you take your child to church even if your husband strongly dislikes church?

Perhaps you and your husband and your child can have a family discussion of the reasons for either going to church or not going to church, and then the child can decide which option he or she prefers. If your husband dislikes church, is there some other family activity that he would like to do on Sundays? Consider your options.

If you get married before you have the baby who has legal rights to the baby my husband or the father?

Depends on your state. In MI, the legal father of the child is the mother's husband. If your child's father is not going to be your husband, do the right thing and let him be involved.

Can a woman's boyfriend or husband adopt her children with out having their father give up his parental rights?

The child's father is going to have to give up his rights first. You cannot adopt a child, if both parents do not agree.

Your husband claims his ex was pregnant with his child and she admitted to it the day after we were married and afterwards made several advances on him should you ask her if this is true?

This is some piece of work your new husband pulled off on you. It appears he knew all about this before he married you. A paternity test (DNA) will tell if this is his child or not. This is the only option you have. If it is his child then it's his responsibility to pay Child Support. Whether she made several advances on him or not he is trying to squirm out of this difficult situation and placing the blame on her and not taking responsibility for his own actions. All he had to do was open his mouth and tell her he was in love with you and getting married. This problem of his ex being pregnant is not yours, but his and you demand that there is a paternity test done to be sure this child is his. Then sit your new husband down and communicate the fact that this is how things are going to be: Good communication skills, honestly, loyalty and building on your relationship into the future or you'll kick his butt out the door. There are several issues here. First, whether your husband's ex was pregnant. Second, if she was, is your husband the father. Third, does your husband's ex expect him to pay her child support for the child. Fourth, if "several advances" means romantic advances, how did your husband react; and if "several advances" means demands for money, how should you and your husband react. Depending upon the relative dates, the ex may have been pregnant as he claims, and she would have no reason to "admit" it except to demand child support or to try to get him back. In either case, you have an interest in the matter. If you don't believe your husband, you should ask her. If it is true, and she wants support, you and your husband should insist on a DNA test to confirm that he is the father. If she wants him back, you should ask him what his intentions are.

Should you be mad if your mom is pregnant after having two kids and going on her third child?

Of course not. The children don't decide for a grown woman and man how many children they will have. I bet that when you are an adult you and your husband will make those decisions by yourself.
