wiki answers should really put a posting date on this stuff... I am having same trouble with my v50 t5 - get someone with a vida system- diagnostics it will indicate which cylinders are misfiring and part of the numerical code given may give a hint as to the cause of the misfire. if there is a pattern to the misfire eg. 3,4,5 it could be the wiring to the coils ie. a dirty earth on that wiring set. A simple thing to check a weak point in all volvos in the fuel cap - it's cheap and very important to fuel pressure, which can also be cause of intermittent misfires - however would suggest errors for fuel pressure may come up on the mechanics vida system if it is fuel pressure problem eg fuel sensor low pressure etc..
Did you change your fuel filter when you changed your fuel pump? I would also check for fouled spark plugs, dirty fuel injectors, and vacuum leaks.
Likely a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum hoses including those running under cover on top of engine.
Could be, in need of a tune up, vacuum leaks, leaky fuel injectors,
Normally it is located on the fuel rail to the fuel injectors with a vacuum hose on the top.
Use? Lose? Either way, yes. A vacuum leak will send false information to the computer controlling the injectors, thus resulting in a richer mixture.
bad fuel pump, dirty injectors, vacuum leak
a solid tune up plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve, have injectors cleaned by a shop.clean throttle body. check timing. see if cats are turning red when you loose power, they might be full.check for vacuum leaks. Good luck.
loose or damaged wires in ignition system.intake manifold vacuum leaks in intake or hoses. or its not getting fuel to injectors.
Whe it needs it
Diagrams help ensure that the parts being changed are changed properly. The diagram for the vacuum lines in this car can be seen in the cars maintenance manual.
The brakes need to be bled, or is there no vacuum pressure? in that case you need to check all vacuum lines, including the ones for the cabin and other accessories, not just the brakes.
If one bank is running lean it usually means that you have a vacuum leak somewhere on that side. Check for broken hoses that connect to that side or possibly broken gaskets. changed all hoses what gasket
